Marketing Plan for getting 20,000 paid app downloads

I have to market an iOS app and get 20,000 downloads through online advertising. The app costs about $2. Is there anyone who has done a similar task before. I would like to know what platform should I consider using to get to the milestone.

    I dare say no one is going to spill the beans on a 20K app download plan. You're best off avoiding advertising. Instead: viral marketing.

      That would be my first shot for viral marketing. I don't know if this would cost lot more than going with Adwords or Facebook advertising.

        The only money I spend on viral marketing are regular operating costs for the websites and payment to staff. VM is a subject I'm passionate about and you'd do well to consider it, especially for apps.

    I 'd set up a Facebook group associated with the niche the App is in. Promote the group and get some subscribers and then start promoting the App.

    I'd use Facebook ads to promote the app. As well as this, I'd spend money on press releases so that more people can see it. Then if you're lucky, the app will go viral. If it doesn't, just buy banner ads on other apps.

    Make a Youtube video showing someone using your app.
    Then promote that video, also buying ads in FB can be a good way yo get cheap app downloads.

      Greatly depends on the app context/subject matter. Is there a niche it fits, how large is the potential customer base? Does the client have any other apps/audience already?

      The answer to these questions should lead you down the correct path.

    -Make a Fbook page
    -Make a video showing what the app is/does. If you want people to pay $2, the video needs to be at least 3 mins showing cool features. Create value.
    - Post video directly to Fbook page.
    - Boost post through Fbook ads, paying for engagement.
