Issues with Profollow / Aweber?

So, I logged into my profollow dashboard since they changed over to aweber now. Anyway, I noticed that they are a bit of subscribers waiting for confirmation email to be clicked and didn't think anything of it. Anyway, decided to do a little test after support said to change the form submit part of the AR code to reflect aweber instead of profollow. I then entered a 'dummy' user and an email address i hardly check as an opt in.

Log into aweber and see that the dummy user is pending a confirmation. Go to the dummy email and low and behold no message sent from aweber for confirmation

Is this something to be concerned about or maybe the email servers are really slow to send out tonight? Maybe maintenance being performed? I'd like to hear your feedback. Thanks.

I just signed up for the $1 trial with aweber tonight and set everything up and a web form on my site. Sent over 10 emails from different email accounts to test. Same result as you. No emails went to my inboxes, spam or anywhere. But aweber shows the email was sent?

I didnt even get a sign up email confirmation of my $1 payment or account details. Something is obviously going on with them right now. I started doing this around 6 hours ago.

Yes. also had problems with the profollow to aweber switchover. One of my list went to 20 signups to 0 signups overnight without anything changing traffic wise. But it seems the problems are fixed now as yesterday was back up to 20 subscribers and all the confirmation mails go out as required.

I was freaking out pretty badly for about 24 hours there.

Tiffany, I noticed similar issues on my end with the Profollow switchover. I'm crossing my fingers that they get this all sorted out permanently by Monday - everything seems to be working well at the moment!

Funny you should bring this up.

I just signed up to two lists tonight ( I wanted some freebies ), both were aweber optins and I didn't receive a confirmation email from either.

I tried two different email accounts. Both were live ( hotmail ).

Trying to resubscribe with the same emails I get the default aweber you've already subscribed to this list page so the signup is working.

So, something stinks in the state of aweber.

And somebody hook me up with a copy of optincrusher before it's a purchase only plugin 'cus that's one of the confirmation emails I didn't get.

I've noticed in recent weeks that many AWeber confirmation
e-mails don't get sent out right away as they used to do
      so regularly and instantaneously before.

Some arrive after 5-10-minutes whilst others go in spam
or don't get delivered at all.

It's very frustrating as a subscriber and I'm sure that it's
frustrating for the list owner too as confirmation rates will
      undoubtedly suffer.

      Dedicated to mutual success,

      Shaun

I never had these issues with ProFollow. I think we should all send aweber support an email outlining the issue.

yes. The messages are not sent out from aweber. I tested about 5 emails and not one went out. Not even a confimation for me paying the $1 trial and setting up my account yesterday. This really sucks!

I tried out icontact and really dont like it, very confusing and the web forms really suck. That is why I went back to aweber, but this is definitely not worth the trouble if this keeps happening.

Seems like the only remedy for this not happening in the future is to turn off double optin and send the person straight to the download page?

Has anyone tried out constant contact lately? I tried them a few years back and it seemed pretty good, I only switched because my account got frozen for uploading an old list and got too many spam complaints and I after that they wouldnt let me upload any more new emails that didnt come straight from a sign up. It was my fault and it was my first experience with an auto-responder service.

      Any reviews for Constant Contact?

I think there is probably just a small hiccup in the Aweber system at the moment...

I was setting up a new list and no matter what I did, I couldn't get that list to send emails properly...

However, oddly enough, it didn't affect any old AR's that were setup, just the new one.

I'm sure they'll have the glitch sorted out soon enough though.

    All the best,

I just logged into my aweber account and exported my list as a CSV file to my Hard drive for backup. Hopefully, this is fixed sooner than later.

These threads are funny because a lot of people are always saying they want to build lists so they don't like to depend on the Search Engines for traffic because they like to control everything about their business, but this just goes to show that a lot of us depend on the AR companies far too much!

yea I agree and just wish they had a better solution to host our own auto responders on our servers. I used I got from code canyon but it takes forever to send out due to hostgators restrictions on how many emails you can send out in an hour.

Has anyone tried this one: Plugins - WordPress Email Newsletter Plugin - CodeCanyon

I'm having the same issue. I have submitted a ticket at Awber but I suspect they will be being bombarded right now. Lucky I didn't have any big promos running!

Hopefully they'll fix it real soon. I love Aweber and this is not a regular occurrence so I'll give them time to fix it before complaining too much. :-)

Yep, same here. I have a client doing a third radio show tonight and this... He usually gets a blast of subscribers during the show. Going to push him over to my own php form mailer for now. Don't want to see 200 subs waiting on a non existing confirmation email.

Aweber sent his message to me:

Over the weekend we experienced an issue in the sending of
confirmation messages. They were being queued to be sent out,
but unfortunately did not complete the final step in sending.

Our development team located the issue, and initiated the sending
of all backlogged confirmation messages. As of Sunday evening, all
backlogged messages had been sent out successfully.

We apologize for the delay in delivery of those messages, and can
assure you that we have identified the cause, and completely resolved it.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.
