VA's & Outsourcing...

Hi Warriors,

Can anyone recommend a tried and true VA/Outsourcing company
that is credible, dependable, trustworthy, and able to "communicate"
efficiently?

I would rather have contacts that someone has personally used and
not contacts that you heard so and so has used or is using, etc.

I'd like sources in either the Philippines or India.

Thanks,

Robert

Yes, I've used Marx Vergel Melencio's VA service for writing services only and have been VERY satisfied with the service. One thing I really like about Marx is that he wants to make the customer happy (within reason of course), his writers that I used were trainable, and he worked with me on a couple of projects.

I cannot comment on any of his WP review sites or SEO services because I have not used them.

Just look him up using the search feature and you'll find him.

I would actually suggest keeping away from the big VA companies that farm out VAs. It is much cheaper (and usually you can get better workers too) if you go straight and and look for an individual rather than go through a company who most likely takes a large chuck out of the VA fee.

I really really recommend ESEO Services.org though their VA's are quite expensive but they're top notch and not to mention their SEO is just supreme!

some great resources posted, I have used many of these freelance services, and some not listed, but one of the things that I encountered that was puzzling to me, I could not find an individual, freelancer, or a company that would take a part time or limited duration deal.

They all wanted full time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, month after month after month.

I was puzzled about this because the time it takes to develop and update content, is not that great, and a good virtual assistant will always adapt to the job at least within reason.

I believe there are some good outsourcing agencies but there are also some brokers that just exist to waste your time and or try to take advantage of you.

So, watch out for those that are not really interested in providing good service but only interested in how much money you have in your wallet.

One of the biggest red flags I saw was the most asked questions,

    How much is your budget?
How much money do you have to spend?

Not, what kind of content do you need so I can find out if I can best serve your needs.
No, they wanted to know just how much money I had in my pocket so they could find out how they can get every dime I have.

When I hear that question that is the end of the interview, and there is one huge reason why it has to be that way.

Because if an agency or a service provider does not know how much their services are worth then I do not want to do business with that service provider.

Hi Robert, I've used folk from onlinejobs.ph too. You could also hit craigslist in Manila as a possible direct source.

The key is to give them a starter test up front to weed out any real lightweights and then get them on Skype so you can narrow it down o your final choice.

If you get completely stuck for names, try looking up Joe Finn on here, he sometimes has "spare" workers who are keen to get started

In response to Tim, when it comes to the Philippines a lot of the online workers really just want a reliable job. They want an employer who will pay them on time every month. They want to feel secure financially. A job gives them that security.

As for how to vet out the right talent, we've put out a whole free guide on the subject of hiring virtual staff. Sig.

I would go for odesk or vworker anyday for outsourcing. They are the best when it comes to Outsourcing and VA's.
But you can also find some other good alternative VA from other places too.

I wouldn't go with one company, I'd choose individual outsource workers for individual parts of tasks, because that can be a lot cheaper, and most workers in 3rd world countries are unreliable sometimes, so better to have a range of choices than only one.

I've used oDesk for lots of outsourcing, including data entry, re-writing and some WordPress customization, and I love the fact that with a fixed-price gig, I never pay until I am happy with the results, and I am paying for results rather than paying for time.

    That's my experience

Nice input, however I hope next time you would prefer to use the term "developing nations" rather than "third world countries."

To the OP, go ahead and check onlinejobs.ph. For more info, you may visit John's blog, John Jonas on Living The 4-Hour Workweek

We Filipinos are different from other outsourcing countries since we provide only clean and good work. That's the reason why a lot of countries like UK and USA outsource from us.

      We satisfy customers...we work honestly...

I have to agree that the Philippines is a great place to look for a trainable, honest VA strong in English.

The English skills are what make the Phils stand out.

If I look at the jobseeker profiles at OutsourceFactor.com (you can look too, since it's a free site), I notice that the vast majority of profiles looking for VA-type work are from the Philippines.

Hundreds upon hundreds of them ...

The time zone difference, and occasional power outages / Internet outages are really the only problems that need to be worked around. Good training & company culture get you past that.

    Hi Robert,

Staff.com has a pool of talented resources from the Philippines. We have monitoring tools to make sure your staff works for you. You can check our list of Virtual Assistants, interview and test them for as low as $1. If you are satisfied, you can hire them full time for as low as $4/hr. If you don't want to go all through the interviewing and hiring process, our recruitment specialist can do this for you.

I understand Robert, have you ever used a US based VA?

I am assuming that you typically pay anywhere from $2-$5 per hour for a VA based in India and PI?

Robert - Hey, we have a team of over 30 outsourced people. We use a combination of services from odesk, elance, etc....

These people do everything from writing, linkbuilding, SEO, software development, etc...

It depends on exactly what you are looking for. What I would recommend is finding specialists... Finding an all-around person is really hard to do and it's what most larger companies will advertise and give you. Lots of linkbuilders, and poorly trained spammers.

may want to check out globetask.net. they are from Israel - a little more expensive, but in general the "get" it... If you want to tell us more about what you are really wanting I can suggest some specific companies.

I've had good luck in finding software dev companies overseas - in this instance I would advise actually going for a company because you are going to get a project manager that will be easy to communicate with. and they can advise you on project planning, etc...

If you are looking for more VA tasks, and "do this , do that" kind of stuff, I would say to find from odesk, elance, etc...

if you want more info feel free to PM me or see our blog - thanks

VAs can pretty much do anything that you need done. Most people hire VAs for the following skills:
      • SEO
      • Linkbuilding
      • blog posting
      • forum commenting
      • Wordpress
      • article marketing
      • social media marketing
      • customer service
      • sales
      • design
      • programming
The possibilities are virtually limitless. The trick is finding a good VA with a good set of skills and training them so they're able to do more.

Hiring a VA can be done through a company or not. It actually depends on you. If you want a VA with less management, you can hire him/her through a company, which actually provides good set of software that are used for monitoring and managing the projects. However, if you want to work directly with the VA, then you will not need the company all the way to the process. Nonetheless, doing the searching , hiring , or probably even the management will be more effective with a GOOD company. There can be chances that a perfect VA comes your way but these chances are sometimes too rare. You need company with an experienced HR team that will pick the best VAs, who have been screened out from tests and interviews before they are handed down to you. The process of getting a VA from a company usually takes on like this:

    1. You send your enquiry about your requirements for your VA, what skills set, time or work, etc.
    2. The company will search for your VA candidates, test them, interview them and then the best ones will be sent to you. (resumes sent)
    3. You pick your choice or pick your choices, then you will send the payment to the company.
    4. The company will send you the contact details and then initially, facilitate your communication.
    5. Once you have decided for your VA choice, the company will send him/her off to start working with you.
