Try Squidoo, A great place to get started into the freelancing world and writing for an income. Squidoo is a place where you can write about any topic you feel comfortable and you get paid off of royalties from it. You also get a cut from the Ads and Amazon products you sell from it.

You can also try ehow or hubpages, they are great sites as well to write articles for. My suggestion would be to google it, if you haven't already and you will be surprised at how many sites there are that you can write for and make money with.

You can also start a WSO or 'Warriors For Hire' in this forum. Having great, unique articles will always have a demand. Just put together a great, convincing sales page, offer some samples of your writing, and just watch the orders start coming in

The first question is...who needs articles?
Be pro-active...find the sites and blogs that need content and contact them about your services.

guru.com is another place that you can go to find writing jobs. If you are a good writer you can get a decent fee for writing. I got my start there.

Go to iwriter.com become a write for them I think the least you will make is like 3 or 4 dollars and if you become a 4 or 5 star writer you can end up making 7 to 12 dollars and if you can write 2 articles an hour you can be making 20 dollars an hour.

In my opinion it is easier to find work on forums - you can find work elsewhere but you usually won't be able to find people who will accept your rate.

You can be a freelance writer or if you have good technical knowledge you can also contact popular blogs and they pay good amount once they like your content...like for example smashing magazine pay 250$ to its new guest writer for 1 article

OK, there is a lot of advice on here, you're right but listen to the Warriors - there are so many people that have helped me out! Start by doing these 2 things:

1) Sign up to micro job sites (Fiverr, Fourerr, GigBucks, Fivesquids, Fiversworld etc).
2) Sign up to freelancing sites (Elance, Guru, oDesk, Freelancer etc)

Once you've set up one profile, you've got a profile for the rest of the sites - just make sure your profile includes a good portfolio of your writing style!

On the micro job sites, look in the "Request/Suggest Gigs" section to see if you can help people seeking for article writers.

Promote your profiles on Facebook/Twitter to get your name out there...

Fiverr is a good way to start! I've had success on it. I'm trying odesk now but I really don't like that almost everyone wants 500 words for 2-5 dollars but I guess that we have to start somewhere.

You can work on freelancing sites like odesk and scriptlance . but the preffered way is to make a website containing your articles . you can generate lots of traffic to your website and It has been proven that "traffic = money" you can then earn lots of money by selling your products or affilate programs

There is a new service that is out called Hirewriter - they have only just started posting jobs, but maybe good to get your profile on there and start to look for writing work. Of course, you don't earn a lot as a beginner, but once you have written a few and your ratings go up, you will get more work.

Have you tried the passive income revenue sharing route? Try searching for infobarrel, hubpages, xomba etc. You'll need an adsense account

I think you got an enough idea now in earning money by writing articles but it is very important to know how to spread the information as Internet is the ocean of knowledge. If you have that skill then you will surely be able to generate revenue with the help of those websites that other warriors have suggest you.

yes. Fiverr, iwriter, odesk, etc. These and more sites can give you online jobs. But it will be great if you work for a client directly, who will give you long-term job as his/her remote staff.

If you really like writing then you have the hardest part of Internet Marketing covered. Why don't you use your writing skills to build niche sites or do some affiliate marketing? I would kill for someone to partner with me and do all the tedious content and article writing. I would be willing to split the profits 50/50.

I joined iWriter and I've been writing articles for sometime now. And a lot of you warriors are right. Content mill writing sucks! Writing 500 to 1000 word articles for $10 to $12 isn't worth it! I got frustrated after writing for 2 months! ... I did manage to make a few hundred bucks though. But, it wasn't close to what I was expecting to make. God! I was naive. I've decided to pursue copywriting in Febuary 2013. As of writing this..... I'm actually studying copywriting and have progress quite well. I'm taking AWAI Accelerated Program and I'm grasping the basics pretty well. Alongside I've enrolled in Copyhour course this month. And this course has really skyrocketed my learning curve. Geee, I'm already using 'power words'. hahaha

You have to put yourself out there write some samples and offer to hand them out to people for a review. Get a WSO thread and hand out review copies. Post to article sites contact webmasters and offer to write for them on a trial basis. Call local SEO shops ask if they need any content for client sites.

Set up a website, post articles as your portfolio there, and then advertise your services in forums like WF or start a thread in the Warriors for Hire section. Be diligent, write high quality articles, don't be late in your submissions and always maintain excellent customer service. You'd make a killing.

Sometimes I feel like my prices are criminally low, but I would never in a thousand years write an article for a lousy three to five bucks. It's not worth the time and effort, and it's not worth dealing with the type of clients that are too cheap to fork out the extra dough for quality writing.

It really comes down to whether or not you have the chops. In most cases, these five dollar article writers aren't writers at all. They're typists.
