Another of Glenn's Did You Know... (Skype)

Did you know that in the latest version of Skype, you can
edit text AFTER your hit the submit button?

Simply highlight your text, then right-click/edit will copy the
text into the edit box ready for you to work on. Resubmit
in the usual way.

Pretty cool huh? All those typos can now be history.

And if you want to edit the last message you sent (that's when I usually spot the typos) simply press the cursor up key.

Where have you been kid? I was thinking the same as JT - you could edit the posts in the last version I know, and possible the one before that.

Either way, this also comes in handy when typing in a password. This way someone can grab it in a second, and you can edit it out before others get to it.
Doh! There's me thinking this is a cool new feature.. where have I been? trying to extricate my foot from my mouth

Maybe I'm missing something here, but why would I want to edit a message in skype? When I'm talking to someone, it seems confusing to suddenly break out of the conversation and start editing typos. Am I missing the point?

      Talk again soon.

I sometimes use Skype to create the core of a product when in conversation with an expert. It's much easier to edit live when things are fresh in your memory.

why would I want to edit a message
    Oh, that's easy.

It was therefore necessary to rewrite a paragraph of Big Brother's speech, in such a way as to make him predict the thing that had actually happened.... Winston's job was to rectify the original figures by making them agree with the later ones. As soon as Winston had dealt with each of the messages, he clipped his speakwritten corrections to the appropriate copy of The Times and pushed them into the pneumatic tube. Then, with a movement which was as nearly as possible unconscious, he crumpled up the original message and any notes that he himself had made, and dropped them into the memory hole to be devoured by the flames.

That's messed up. You could really freak out some people doing this.
