Best Site For Domain Name Research Which Doesn't Grab Domains

Hi Warriors,

I'm looking for a site which allows domain name research which will not register the domains right out from under me.

While searching for the perfect domains, I've literally had them snatched up from under me before I'd made my final search.

Any sites you know of that do not do this?

I'd rather not have to register every domain I search.

Usually I use NameCheap, but ....

Dennis, I strongly recommend Moniker.com. Once you've created a free account there, you can enter as many as 500 domains at a time to see what's available, and they won't snatch the names from you.

You can determine very quickly if a domain is currently registered by using the web application I recently built - www . zfbot . com - The .com / .net encyclopedia - The .com / .net encyclopedia[/url]. It's basically the entire .com/.net/.org directory (uses the zone files).

The main reason I built it is to search for domains that are similar to ones I own so that I can more quickly find end users to purchase domains in my portfolio (you can search on domains starting and ending with substrings, and also contains on the dropping domains) but you can also just search directly for a specific domain if you want.

There are just over 100 million domains in the database. And I'm not affiliated with any registrars in any way and none of the searches you type in are going to result in any domains being registered out from under you

You can read a bit more about the application and why I built it at:
            www . acro . net/blog/2009/02/23/zfbot-the-encyclopedia-of-com

            Enjoy!

I use DomainsBot.com. What is great is that it is a domain spinner as well. It automatically generates synonyms and creates variations on your keywords and gives 300 to 500 suggestions, all with availability. It can be used as an alternative keyword tool. Very unique tool.
