How Many of You Offer Services Other Than Traffic/SEO

Hello Warriors:

I am curious as to how many of you offer services other than online related things such as:

1.) SEO
2.) Autoresponder
3.) Websites
4.) PPC

In other words are any of you helping business owners with sales and conversions, and other stuff?

If so, what are you offering and how are you charging?

Are you executing these things, Merlyn or are you just outlining them to the Business Owner?

I started out only offering ONLY consulting which covered a lot of what Dexx mentioned.

I evaluate a company's strategic marketing initiatives and then create a marketing plan for them, with their input of course. I never used to handle implementation.

I have recently started offering implementation because so many clients have asked for it. I outsource and partner with other vendors to provide services.

We work offline since late 2003. We offer: Print / Web / New Media / Video...

People often misunderstand OFFLINE and focus their attention on web stuff: SEO, web development, PPC, etc etc. But offline businesses need WAY MORE then most folks realize. Print for example. Magazines. Brochures. Brand development. B2B techniques. Thats why you need a solid graphic designer. Someone you can trust your life before sending final artwork to print, otherwise you'll screw 20K in 4 outdoors + 10K brochures.

And so on with other services...

Thats why most folks in WF providing offline services aren't in fact offering offline services.

    EDIT:

Prices? It depends on final contracts value - we always try to assure long term contracts, or at least a long relationship with all customers - thats one of the goodies of working offline. But usually we're more expensive then what I see here. But again, we deliver services not provided here. Basic hourly rate go as low as 20€-30€, depends if it's a new customer or not.

Thing is: a cleaning lady charges 12€ per hour to clean the office...

Fernando, I totally agree with you that most people on the WF aren't really offering offline marketing.

Well, actually there is no such thing as "offline" marketing. It's just a phrase that some IM'ers have coined for the marketing and business development services that have been offered for years.

I agree with both of you also. You have to realize many small business owners hate to change and continue to use the same advertising methods, You can get your foot in the door by redoing their yellow page ad and when you build their trust move to more effective methods.

Direct mail, special events and promotional sales for retailers can create tremendous cash flow and profits if done properly. That is why I offer more than the standard IM to local businesses and less competition too.

I am talking small business. You can get your small business client in the newspaper with special events and bring in a lot more traffic to their business. There is a huge opportunity for consultants to help brick and mortar businesses with marketing on the internet along with the traditional forms of marketing.

Wife has formation, Graphic Design, and I learned along the way, started in the 90's developing flyers/outdoors for concerts/club parties/magazine ads...

When I started doing this full time I had clear notions of marketing and design, if thats your question.

I spend 2-4 months optimizing a business before even TOUCHING their online marketing efforts.

Are they properly tracking/testing their marketing efforts?

Do they have a referral system in place?

Do they even have a contact database for communicating with existing clients? How often is it used?

Do they even have a clear marketing message or a clear target market defined (or do they believe that "everybody" needs what they have to sell)

    etc.

Most marketers could easily be making thousands of dollars if they looked outside the "online" options of "offline" marketing. =P

    Cheers,

I love this, thanks for sharing. A couple of newbie questions
1- do you rank the site first, and then you rent it to a business? Or they are subdomains from your main site?
2- do you rent them for just $41/mth?

            • The main site is currently on page 2 of Google for 4 keywords and on page 1 for one.
            • Many of my articles are on page one.
            • Businesses listings have the option of a page 1 SERP if they go for the SEO option. One sample listing is on page 4 without that option. So no, I do not rank first then rent.
            • The listings are not sub-domains, they are categorized.
            • All listing are yearly. Basic is $499 and the Premium is much higher.

I do not offer a list of services to my clients. I will complete a short analysis of their business offline and then interview them for 30 minutes or so at their office. I will make recommendations based upon my experience. I try and stay away from teaching them about sales and training, most business owners are pigheaded about that and think they know it all.

Me and my team do numerous things.

      Social media
      Print (special edition magazines)
      Brand Management
Market Research (for those thinking of starting a business)
Some B2B marketing for some software guys
Unique Marketing (stuff that is a one time thing)
      Content Management
      Marketing Plans
      and a bit more

As for what we are charging, it depends on the type and size of the business. Normally we dont deal with anyone not in the $1mil+ range. However we do have some smaller clients that do things or offer products we firmly believe in. All in all, a staff of 6, we do quite well.

For 25 years I've been specializing in 2 key areas ...

        1) Helping businesses put in place proper automation to manage leads, prospects and clients which, 1) gives them a system, and 2) makes them far more productive so they have more time to handle the sales & marketing functions required in a business.

        2) Helping businesses grow by using innovative and effective Online AND Offline marketing strategies.

Like Dexx, I do a very thorough analysis. It's from that very important conversation that determines the direction I'm going to go, what I'm going to recommend, the implementation strategy of my recommendations (we take things in steps which makes it easier for the business) and so on.

I'm a strong advocate of the importance of having a database program! I've helped many offline businesses put one in place and have watched them just flourish! What a difference it makes.

Those who are selling online services to offline businesses need to have a database system in place too. Check out the Offline Marketer CMS. Link is in my signature below.

A vehicle wrap is when you have graphics and such on a company car.

Example like bail bonds, real estate companies, etc. Its more then just a magnet but it actually covers the entire car.

In other words are any of you helping business owners with sales and conversions, and other stuff?

If so, what are you offering and how are you charging?

Well before I really got into the marketing aspect of the offline business world, my main offline business has been credit card processing for the last 7 years, well I should say payment processing because I deal with all types of payments, including check processing, ach, recurring billing, email invoicing, online bill pay and good ole hard cash in the form of atm machines. I've also do gift/loyalty card programs as well.

I would also say that if all you guys who are offering web design, development, seo and any other offline marketing to your clients and you don't have a partnership with a merchant services provider like myself, your missing out on some easy extra money in monthly residuals for doing nothing more then making a referral.
