Is there a wordpress theme like this?

um wordpress has something called the wordpress loop, and by adding a functions.php file to the theme ( or in the case of twenty-ten its done for your) you can literary google/copy/paste your way to anything you want.

basically the same thing as thesis ...wait were did thesis get the term hooks?

they reused the name, because thats exactly what WordPress calls them lol

for the record Thesis is not a WordPress theme at all, it is a framework. WordPress itself is like a framework, and under that framework runs themes. Thesis is more like a framework that runs under the WordPress framework, and themes that run under Thesis are called "child themes."Thesis hooks allow for php code to be written to manipulate where you want items to appear on the page right? WordPress has this feature built-in, but Thesis limits you from copying/pasting code directly into the theme , what thesis brings to the table are limitations. The only useful feature Thesis offers is SEO, which All in one seo pack does better.

I want to make a quick page template for a page I want to layout differently.

without thesis :

grab the page.php file

add

rename file
make some alterations to the code

upload.



In thesis :



create a file starting with

Now you need to add some code for rendering the page. Define the whatever_page() function in custom_functions.php, and populate it using code you rip out of these files:

solution 1 , without thesis.....5 min tops.



with thesis , for most, they will fail, and pay someone like myself to do it. other may figure it out in a few days.



All I want , is someone that has been brainwashed into using thesis, to give me one example of something that thesis does, that WordPress cannot accomplish just as easily.

Don't say adjust my sidebar widths or body width etc, because that can be easily changed in the "style.css" file
