What type of Media do you want to buy? Do you want to buy banner space (CPM)? Do you want to buy PPC or PPV? What type of traffic are you looking to buy? Are you driving this traffic to a squeeze page? Please be specific and perhaps I can help you...

    Here's your wso right here.

Media buying = buying ads on sites. Typically banners.

Either through an ad network or directly with the site. In your case, you will want to start with an ad network. Preferably one that is self-serve until you have a profitable campaign.

Ok Michael, if you want to drive traffic to your site then I have a few more questions:

    1. Is your site a landing page with a complete sales funnel?
    2. Are you trying to arbitrage the traffic in hopes of making more from Adsense or other ad network?
    3. Or do you simply want people to visit your site because you have something interesting to say?

Let's take each of my questions individually and I'll provide some guidance:

    1. If your site is a landing page with a sales funnel (you're selling something & capturing emails) then depending on the niche, I recommend using sites like Adsharemarket, BuySellAds, or Sitescout to drive traffic to your site. This means you'll need banners for your site and I recommend a minimum of 10 banners of various sizes. Additionally, I recommend using a tracking service like Prosper202 or LinkTrackr to keep track of all your clicks. Lastly, embed a post back pixel on your Thank You page to keep track of your conversions. I also strongly recommend you use remarketing (this means showing your offer more than once to prospects). You could also use Adwords, Bing, Facebook or the GDN...it really depends on your cost per acquisition (CPA). Example: If it cost you $5.00 to acquire a sale which is worth $20 then your return on investment (ROI) is 300%. Let's expand a bit on this example so you fully understand...Let's take a Clickbank product that pays $50/sale. How much are you willing to spend to acquire that sale? If you spent $50 and made 1 sale then you would break even right...when I use to individually run campaigns I would spend about 5 times the payout value ~ $250 fine tuning my campaign across multiple advertising channels until I found the right audience.... Once I found the right channel (PPC, CPM, PPV, etc) then I would drive traffic really hard and really fast to the offer. My company is still running campaigns mostly on evergreen products that have withstood the test of time and still produce a decent ROI.
    2. Don't waste your time trying to arbitrage traffic...I use to do this about 10 years ago and it worked great back then but nowadays Google is too keen and you will most likely have your Adsense account banned.
    3. Join Facebook, Google+, Pintrest, Tumblr, etc to find like minded individuals such as yourself to share your content.
    Good Luck!
