Dumb noob questions...

Hi all!

I am a very experienced list builder and affiliate marketer and have been quite successful at that method of earning money online.

However, I know that you can make huge money with CPA and buying traffic from places like Lead Impact, TrafficVance, etc.

However, I have a few "noob" questions.

1. What is the deal with landing pages? I have heard you need to make landing pages if you want to get higher CTR and better ROI. Why is this? Aren't CPA offers good enough pages to link to? Why do you need a landing page in the middle? And what is the purpose of the lander? How should you design it?

2. Is it possible to use CPV traffic to build a list in the Internet Marketing/make money online/online biz opp niche?

3. Should I try and use CPV traffic to build a list and then promote the CPA offers to my list or should I just create campaigns that link to the CPA offers themselves?

Also, can anyone recommend a good quality course on CPA/using CPV traffic?

I would really appreciate your time and expertise.

A landing page is used to pre-sell or warm-up the visitor before sending to the offer. It really helps because it can bridge your angle to the CPA offer.
CPA offers have generic landing pages, as they are meant to be promoted through a variety of different traffic sources. By adding an angle, you can appeal to your target demographics and increase ROI.
I use traditional HTML and CSS to design my landers on Dreamweaver.

    2. Is it possible to use CPV traffic to build a list in the Internet Marketing/make money online/online biz opp niche?

    Yes

Thats your choice. Building a list is more of long term method and its recommended. If you are just starting out, promoting offers directly is a better way to go since you will get an idea how the traffic source works.

    Keep building your lists.

Use whatever traffic sources you want but monetize the list with CPA offers if you really want.

First of all thank-you for responding.

I noticed that lots of CPA offers say "no email marketing".

Obviously that means I cannot send out a broadcast to my list right? Also, what are suppression files and how do I go about using them? Also, my list is geared toward Internet Marketing products like WordPress plugins, how to blog, how to do video marketing, how to make money online, etc. What are the best CPA offers to promote to a list like that? I would assume ones that promote online biz opps?

I have completed the first step and have been accepted to two popular CPA networks. I have the $1000 needed to open a Lead Impact account. The thing is that I know PPV is not something one just starts doing and making a profit at.

I know I am going to lose money right off the bat, and I am prepared for that. I'm just trying to get an idea of the best tactics to use so I can at least go into this with a working knowledge of using PPV traffic to promote CPA offers.

One thing I have never done is venture out into niches other than the one I am in.

What are some of the most popular niches? Dating? Gaming?

I did buy a couple of WSOs yesterday that I need to go through. One is about doing direct linking with LI traffic. However, if using landing pages will increase my ROI I would rather go that route.

I also understand that the landing pages have to be a certain size depending on which traffic source you use. What is the best size for Lead Impact landers?

Having a landing page just gives you some control over how you're promoting and selling the offer. You're able to pre-sell the offer and give it your own copy and twist. Obviously you want to make sure it looks professional though. If you're Photoshop skills aren't up to par, there's plenty of services out that you can use instead.
