PPD vs Chitika

AD NETWORKS

I have a website with 1-3k daily pageviews. Its been 3 months since I started this website, and a week before I started to monetize it using chitika. But the daily earning is like $0.03 per day. It is too low, so I an thinking of implementing some other network. Since my website has lots of pdf for downloads, I was thinking to try PPD, but this might backfire since nobody wants to go for that lengthy survey. On a different note should I use url shortner like adfly?

I want to earn some decent money but not at the cost of losing visitors.

Please help me out
