I am new to affiliate marketing. I wanted to know for Facebook Ads can I just advertise banner Ads or do I need to start a website? I guess I'm confused. In order to be approved for the Affiliate Companies is it better to have your own website before applying? Seems there is so much to learn, what are the best affiliate companies? I wanted to start a gaming website and become an affiliate for stores like Gamestop and other affiliate companies promoting games. Can someone offer any help. Thanks!

For Facebook ads, you don't need a website. You can just direct link to the landing page. Bare in mind though, Facebook ads are expensive. You can end up spending over $5 just for 10-15 clicks, so it's not an ideal place to start learning PPC. However, you can get a free $50 Facebook ads coupon, which is useful for starting out without eating into your budget.

It's better to own a website before applying to affiliate companies, but not all of them require that you have a website in order to approve you. It differs depending on each company.

There's a useful article on Wikihow about making a gaming website- 3 Ways to Make a Gaming Website - wikiHow

A good resource for searching for affiliate companies is Affiliate Marketing | Affiliate Programs | CPA Offers | OfferVault

Then once you've found offers that interest you then you can search on Google to check the reputation, etc.. of that company.

Hey ladybusiness9032, were you able to get started with affiliate marketing? Have you found products to sell and promote on FB?

For Facebook you really should have your own domain, they are strict against direct linking
For affiliate networks you don't need a website but it is encouraged

I would definitely ensure you have your own website - at least one that looks like you are an actual company or your own blog before building your own "product based" site etc. Helps your credibility when applying to any network.

Then once that is all in place, build your own website around a product you want to promote ... the one you will send traffic to. Don't use the ready-to-go affiliate links with subIDs with PPC traffic due to the quality reviews on PPC platforms. Having your own site is much better from a compliance point of view. If you want to do Email Marketing then using the affiliate links is perfectly fine of course.

But with Facebook definitely make sure to have your own site and then stick to timeline ads only, these seem to convert very well with CPA campaigns

    Hope that helps,
    Nick

It's definitely a good idea to have a website before you apply to any networks but at the same time it isn't a necessity. You can still be approved to network if you're able to properly communicate your plan for promoting offers or if you already have experience doing so.

Rather than become an affiliate of a gaming company like Gamestop, you can sign up to a CPA network like MaxBounty and select gaming related offers that you think would be relevant for your website/blog. You can then choose from different display banners to place on your site that will direct to the campaign landing page.

    Cheers!
