How many clicks before a sale is made?

How many clicks before a sale is made? It's not a question with a board answer to it as there are many factors involved. But it's one of the most important question to determine your probability of a good ROI or a losing one.

The effectiveness of the sales copy matters.
The conversion percentage also varies and differs from industry to industry.

In your experience, what's the range of conversion rate (percentage) you have and in which niche?

I've had it from 1 click per sale, to several hundred thousand with no sales.. across multiple niches.

Sorry, i know this isn't the answer you wanted, but it's going to be different every time

You should measure by tracking how much activities your visitors does on your site.
I have made sales from 5 to 10 clicks, then it will slowly reduced to 20 clicks each.

Your earning per click (EPC) is what matters, there shouldn't be any expectation in regards of how many clicks will drive one sale..

    Hello Alexander,

We understand your concern about having stats to minimize risks and got an idea of conversations rates. As you told there are many factors involved and the RPM (Revenue per thousand impressions) vary a lot from each Industry and also segment (Country > Operator > Operating System).

If you told us where are you buying traffic and what kind of traffic we can provide you our most recent stats

You need to know your numbers before you can predict that, you need to be well-versed with traffic source as well..

Different traffic source will have totally different conversion rate, like CPC and CPV..

Usually, i measure my ROI like this,

If the offer is paying me $42, then i will spend upto $42 on that traffic source, and if i don't get a sale means, i will stop that and will try a different source.

Once you have placements list which are working for you then, i will slowly reduce my cpc to optimize my ROI

There is no fixed number about it, But your network always provide you conversion rate.
If your offer converting by the 3% rate so your first sale must be registered in 33 clicks....But it is RAW study.

Many time it depend on luck.

I can get sales as low as 1 in 4 clicks but you have to target the right keywords. The more laser targeted the keyword phrase the higher the conversion rate.
