Why do these affiliate network do this?

Posture. They value their offering, hence, the premium experience. People who vibe with the offering take their route and they succeed. Different strokes for different.....networks.

As a network owner, I can explain this. CPA networks receive dozens if not hundreds of affiliate applications per day. Clickbank has a 60-day return/chargeback policy. If customers return or chargeback their orders your commissions gets deducted.

In my experience, 99% of CPA networks do not have a 60-day return/chargeback policy in place. Most of them negotiate payment terms with advertisers and work on weekly net 14 to Monthly net 30 payment terms. Competition is huge nowadays when it comes to affiliate networks and offers. Affiliates like to get paid asap. Most affiliates we work with at SlingAds get paid twice a month or weekly. We do not deduct your sales commission when your traffic has cancelations/refunds or chargebacks. We might get a notification from our advertiser that your traffic isn't backing out and then we'll have to ask you to pause on that specific offer.

It's very easy to fraud offers these days. Most CPA networks just want to make sure you're legit. Some might just want to see if you will call (alot of people are afraid to do a phone interview) thinking affiliate network will ask you a lot of questions. Some might just ask about your traffic and history and some will just ask you "have you done affiliate marketing before?" haha and then approve you.

Affiliate networks are just trying to avoid guys that are frauding offers and trying to get paid by cheating the system. I know when you're a legit affiliate it seems a little bit insulting. Like you're the one that's going to make that affiliate network money so yea i do understand your concern. Trust me when i apply to affiliate networks and they want to get on a call to verify information i roll my eyes. But at the end of the day, few minutes on the phone or skype and you're approved and you can go start making money.

I find alot of companies/ people who offer services are doing this in general. The internet is a huge place with lots of tire kickers and time wasters. Its almost too easy to fill out an inquiry forum or send an email requesting information that someone might only be vaguely interested in. Requesting a phone call or interview adds an extra level of "inconvenience" that weeds out some of the tire kickers.
