Couple questions...Is there any way to check how many backlinks a certain website has???

When blog commenting for backlinks, do i have it right that you put your link in the website field of the comment section and not in the msg? And where they ask for the name should I be putting they keyword I am shooting for??

THANKS!

I'd recommend checking the number of backlinks with yahoo.

    Use this search: "link:pageurl -site:domain.com"

Pageurl is the complete URL of the page who's backlinks you are looking for. The domain.com is the domain of that URL. This way you will only find external backlinks.

What you are looking to do is get links back to your page with the keyword(s) as the anchor text. Often it is best to do this by typing your keyword in the name field of the comment. Some blogs do not like this and the comment may not get approved. Others will be fine with this type of comment. The key is to make a meaningful comment on the blog that relates to the article the person wrote. As long as the comment is quality they will most likely approve your comment either way.

Sounds like you've got an idea of what you need to do! Good luck
