I'm starting out with clickbank and I would like to know where I should test keywords etc. Would keyword bids be cheaper on Yahoo? for example would
the keyword "IBM laptop" be cheaper on Yahoo? If I could run through my testing budget at a slower pace through Yahoo PPC should I go that route?
what do you think?

You need to be looking for better keywords than ibm laptop, research buying keywords, your best bet is probably to start with yahoo, they are a little more forgiving than Google

Have you considered other search engines besides the top 2?

On Yahoo the bids can be as much as 3 times lower than on Google, even more than that, but the volume... that's another story.

keyword research is the most important thing you need to understand, or grab a program...

In general yahoo will be cheaper, but you should check out the second tier search engines. If you are new, ppc can be very tolling on the wallet, so while you learn, keep your bids low and look for less traffic keywords and search engines.
