Clickbank Hops Tracking Question

Hi so I have 2 questions about clickbank and their tracking, I just wanna make sure im getting all my sales

1. I notice most sales pages offer a freebie type ebook/guide if the person will enter their email. If the person does that, and then later on gets an email about buying the actuall FULL product, and they click the link in the email and do decide to buy, do I still get the sale?

2. I noticed some sales pages have multiple pages, and have tabs at the top, like [testimonials] [order] [more info] [etc]. When I click on those other tabs, my hop is no longer in the url, but there is still an order button on that page.... Does that mean if someone clicks the testimonials tab, reads some reviews, and then clicks the order button at the bottom that Im not getting the sale?

Thanks for the help guys, I just wanna make sure Im getting all the sales i should be because im using ppc to send traffic to the cb products and I dont wanna be wasting money. Any help is greatly appreciated

The easiest way to check this is by pretending to purchase the product. By this I mean hit the "buy now" or whatever. You get taken to the paypal check out and at the bottom of that page you will see something like
    (aff id=xxxxxxxx)
If your clickbank name is where the xxxx's are and they potential buyer purchases the item you get paid! If not your wasting a whole lotta money driving traffic to a page where you get no commissions

Sometimes when refered to a page your clickbank ID isnt there, ie in the url bar - something to do with cloaking or such on the product owners side, however as long as it is in the purchase page then your jammin'

    Hope this helps.

1.General advice is not to promote a product with an opt in on the page (opt in = enter email-get free stuff-list building strategy) because you will sometimes not be given credit for your sale-> the vendor might send people in their list an alternative buy link(without your hop in it), sometimes even from a different site in order to render clickbank cookies useless.
2.I'm not really sure about this one and would hate to give you bad advice. One option is to mail clickbank asking them though I highly doubt their honesty.
    Take care and good luck.

Thanks for the replies guys. Phil your advice was great, I guess as long as I check the order form link for each single page and my aff id is somewhere then everythings fine, the only problem I am still unsure about is the opt in traffic and whether the seller actually uses your hoplink, I would think many sellers would be shady and just use their own link in order to not pay you. Any one have any experience or advice ewith this? A perfect example is farmvillesecrets.com Its a very popular clickbank product, but theres an optin on the sales page for FREE STUFF, and I would think a lot of people would opt in for the free stuff instead of buying right away, and it would be a shame to not get all those sales just because the person bought two days later through the email link....

Does anyone know how to deal with this?

Be carefull with promoting farmville stuff as all farmville vendors and some farmville affiliates who owned domains with "farmville" in the domain name have been sued for copyright infringement.
