Yahoo! and Bing are very simple to use, and the process to create your campaigns is pretty much the same when working with AdWords. The main advantage of working with the 2nd tier search engines are the lower bids (they are not all that lower for the short/broad keywords anymore), and the main disadvantage is the lower traffic volume (besides having less traffic, they also use to have a lower CTR).

Also, Y! and B are more flexible, so you don't need to worry a lot about user's experience as when working with Google.

Not difficult at all. In some ways its actually easier. Remember if your using Yahoo they are split up into regions and countries. For example there is a yahoo australia which just promotes to australia... so make sure you use all the different regions for maximum exposure.

According to MSN/Bing it has better conversion rates than google. So if your on a shoe string budget perhaps MSN would be a better platform. Google=best exposure.

This is a fair assessment of the engines beside MSN/BING. I'm seeing this begin to pick up speed fairly quickly and their approval is usually not as strick there. I've been told by a few affiliates that they allow direct Aff-Link's and that they have better success over there for a cheaper price (since most everyone is still stuck on Google for their campaign, so not alot of keyword competition)

Why not just try out each of it using promo coupons. You'll get a hang of it at the same time wouldn't have to pump money. It's pretty easy to get a coupon for Adwords/yahoo (not really sure about bing). Also, I did read a thread in here about getting traffic through AdWords for 1cent. Seems promising

  • Drop em a Credit Card (billing information) and you are up and running almost as soon as you sign up. There is a few hour delay on ad approval but nothing like the days or weeks google can take up to approving an ad.

  • As far as I know you can only use Credit Card with them. But that was a few months ago that I checked. You may be able to contact a AM up there and find out for sure.
