Getting subscribers using PPV

Hi Fellow Warriors,

Id like to get some feedback/insight from those who have gotten subscribers using PPV (Pay Per View) networks.

Im thinking that a good formula for making CPA sales is to offer a very useful/valuable report or product in exchange for subscribing to my newsletter.

Then continue offering useful info and related products.

PPV seems to be the most cost effective way to get targeted visitors.

Thanks for your thoughts on this!

I do it and it can work. PPV is tricky and not really as cost effective as you would think. You're not paying $0.01/click. You're paying for an impression, so in that respect it is very expensive.

Test a lot of different landing pages, headlines and offers. Don't just try one one LP and expect it to work. And don't be afraid to go ugly... the stuff that probably annoys you works. Ugly, bright colors, flashing buttons, etc.

You'll also want to track your URL/keyword targeting very closely to find out what sites are converting, what's not.

Quality of your subscribers is not usually as great as other traffic sources, but that doesn't really matter if you can get it to profitability and you're not strapped for cash. What I mean by that is if you have a small budget, you want to focus on marketing that is going to give you the highest ROI. If you're budget is pretty much endless, you care less about the ROI as long as it produces a profit.

Once you get everything optimized, keep testing because its only a matter of time before someone starts a bidding war with you, rips off your campaign or the URL gets burned out from the same users repeatedly seeing your offer.

That all said, you can build a massive list very fast with PPV.

I have only worked with leadimpact, who were very good. Their system went very slow for a while there, but they seem to be back up and running. My personal strategy was to use targeted urls from a scraper, and put put a tracking url or pixel on your thankyou page. Then you very quickly can see what works and what doesn't!

    Hi,

    CPV traffic can be tricky.

I suggest you make sure that your landing page is perfectly fitted to the "pop-up window" size.

In Lead Impact the pop up window size is 800x600.
In Media Traffic the pop up window size is 750x550.

Offer valuable information and have a clear call to action.

Also, make sure your landing page loads as fast as possible as you have only about 5 seconds to get attention. If your landing page takes 4 seconds to load, 1 second won't bring you any results to be proud of.

You can test how fast your landing page loads here:

    Pingdom Tools

    hope this helps,
    Mario

Media traffic is a good network to start with. Direct cpv can also work well if you test a bit, however many people dont get much results from it.

I have found Lead Impact and Trafficvance to bring me the best results.

Collecting emails is a great long-term strategy to bring some stable ROI. It works great - especially in the diet and biz op niches.

I have never used PPV and do not think it is the best way to get traffic to your offers. Just started testing mobile ads... :-))
