Sure. Domain at godaddy can be a .info domain at like $2 and hosting is $8 a month or something like that.

There are also free hosting services and stuff but they are a bit spotty and you should be able to get your money back quickly if you do some bum marketing so I would just go with traditional hosting and domain!

imo if you are really short on cash, you can always start with article marketing. You can also start with using free hosting services from weebly, yola, 000webhost, freehostia, blogger, etc.

as for the domain name try to find good coupons or you try going with .info.

It's possible to pay for hosting and domain for a few months with $30. However, make sure that you don't go buy any domain and hosting now. If you're short on money, first define what you're going to do.

If you are going to work with SEO, it's better you spend more money and buy a .com domain than buy a .info for just a couple dollars and never get a first page. If you're going to do article marketing a .info can be enough, then you can save money for hosting. So, first decide on what strategy you are going to use and then spend your money wisely.

Oy....I respect the hell out of you, but that is really bad information.

There are tons of .info domains ranked on the first page of Google in competitive niches. They are actually only slightly harder to rank than a .com requiring an extra backlink or two.

You might want to go read this thread:

      http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...fo-domain.html

Also, try searching on these terms to disprove your theory:

      Noam Chomsky
      regular expressions
      roman coins
      craft ideas
      page rank
      sanctuary city
      New York transit
      moving your money
      Black Friday

(Thanks BGMACAW, stole your list instead of compiling my own.)

.info does carry a very small "spam" penalty, but otherwise it is just as easy to rank.

As a secondary note, I was just researching a very interesting phrase with 1088 searches per day, 456 going to position 1, which has a .be, .ca, .info, .org, and .com's all in the top 10. More interestingly, the .be, .ca, and .info all have less backlinks than the .com's listed below them.

Now, with all of that said, if I had a choice between a .com or a .info, I will always choose the .com. Not based upon ease of ranking, but due to market recognition of the TLD. But, if the .com is not available I will take the .info on my targeted phrase before choosing a less desirable phrase.

      Barry

P.S. Also, Article Marketing does include SEO as part of the theory....At least when it is done right.

        wow such a big explanation...

Well, I didn't say that it's impossible to get a first page with a .info domain. However, it's definetely harder. I myself don't work a lot with SEO now, but have used it in the past and still use it to promote some offers that are performing well with PPC and media buys. Being 100% honest, I could NEVER get a first page with a .info domain. I tried it a few times, but never got good positions. Now, I'm starting some marketing for Brazil (my country) and it seems to be hard to get a first page with .info domains here as well. Finally, I can't remember the last time I saw a .info on the first page (I certainly did, but it doesn't happen very often).

I know that many people (who know more than me about SEO) say that the domain extension isn't relevant, but my opinion is based on my own experiences (and I know that other guys have similar experiences and opinion ).

    $30... hmmm

go buy a $30 toaster or coffee maker and set up a youtube video or article campaign selling the toaster... then link to an affiliate network that has it.

im being general... but seriously... if i had $30 and never made money online... i would learn to sell stuff. that is the key.

my guess is that most people who ran lemonaide stands as kids are probably now self sufficiant... that is if they were the ones running them... not friends or parents.

sales experience teaches us a lot... it shows us how people buy... and that is important because in life everything is a sale :-)

learn to sell... find something to sell... help people.

As others said, Buy a domain from Godaddy and hosting from hostgator. You must start a web site which related to your niche. Then make unique content and Make backlinks. After that you can add Adsense or CPA. Then analyze the web site and improve the income.

    Good luck!

I started with making free sites with blogger.com and at 110mb.com with their free hosting. Then just add articles you write yourself, with pics, videos from youtube, etc.

If you still want to spend the 30 bucks, buy some articles or go to fiverr.com and buy facebook gigs that people offer to get views to your sites.

Check out moniker or namecheap for inexpensive domains without all the crap confusing upsells.

Keep in mind that .info takes twice as much work (or more) to rank as a .com/.net/.org does and is only cheap the first year. After that it's as much and sometimes more than a .com

Hostgator hosting is sufficient to begin with. Sometimes as low as 4 bucks a month.

That said, have a plan first before spending any cash. It can take a bit of time to show profit on a website so know your market beforehand to minimize the wait!

Id either go with the writing service or something...to build capital...

or...a bit riskier...do some kw research, find an exact match domain with at least 10k ecact searches a month, then but some links, write some content.

make sure competition isnt to to to tough for first page.

then build a list from all the traffic, promote stuff without them knowing it...sneaky sneaky

    have fun

I've heard SEO guys argue both angles...just like most SEO concepts. SEO is a very weird beast in that many people do very well pursuing their SEO efforts in completely different ways.

In my opinion, there are much much much more influential things you should be working on SEO wise than to worry about that. For example, if you are heavy weighted on a keyword target and you can't find a good .com domain with the keyword in it, just go with the .info. All else equal I would probably go .com but I dont think its that heavy weighted.

That will get you the domain and maybe 3 months of hosting somewhere like Godaddy.

Honestly, you should probably take the $30 and go see a movie. LOL If you can't save $100 to buy a domain and a year worth of hosting, you would be throwing your money away because it's only the start.

Even if you do ALL of the web site design/development yourself or throw up a WordPress blog using a free theme, you're still going to run into other expenses like buying images from istockphoto or someone else to make your site more appealing. It's hard to make a site convert if it doesn't at least have "some" images and eye candy. There will be tools you'll need as well as time goes on.

Like the old saying goes, it takes money (more than $30 generally) to make money.

I wish you luck, but think you might want to find additional funding before your ship sets sail.

    Hi

I'm afraid it takes money to make money ... not just in affiliate marketing but in business in general. Get yourself a loan of around 1k ... get a proper domain, hosting and spend the money on solid PPC traffic.

Go into the finance or travel industry, especially lead generation. You'll make your bones quickly there and in about 2-3 months will be able to generate a solid income. I make around 5 figures a month so it CAN be done.

Any questions just let me know

Not sure I agree with this. Fortunately you can make money without substantial investment on the internet. Many people start with $30 just like the OP!

Getting a loan is very risky when you are completely new because the truth is that people with money normally go down the paid traffic route and most people who start out in paid traffic lose money at first. When you don't have money, I find it hard to suggest to people to get a loan, especially on the internet where most things can be done for free...though it may be a little more work. I would opt over suggesting people do a little more work than having a loan hanging over their heads. $1,000 may seem like chump change to you and me but to some its a lot of money, so a $1,000 debt can be quite substantial to many people.

I would suggest starting with your $30 and getting true hosting and a domain and then drive FREE traffic to your domain (can do wordpress site or something). As you make money, then reinvest this money and go from there.

Of course this is only my personal opinion!

I absolutely agree 150% with Kenster on this one. It may take money to make BIG money, but when you've got nothing, you can always start with free methods to build up capital.

Spend that $30 on some paper to print flyers, and get a .info domain and some cheap hosting. Also, you can post on Craigslist too, and generate leads that way 100% FREE.

It'll take a lot more elbow grease for lesser results, but what other choices do you have at this point? It's better to be safe than sorry. You've got to take some risks being an entrepeneur, but just make sure they are calculated.

to be honest, I guess when this question asked 'what can i do with $30'
You shouldnt use the money anywhere. He only can do free traffic here.
My first hosting was hosted by my friend, then I bought a hosting from fiverr ($5/year)

I fund my campaigns and outsource my works from my fixed 9-5 salary. I guess you can go work a 9-5/freelance to get your fund and play with the bigger player. Meantime you can read lots of affiliate blogs, forums and dare to approach and ask people. =)

most ppc campaigns offer free $$ when you first starting out =) So you can test out with the first $20 or so. See if they are meant for you...

    All the best

I do not promote this, but I think it could be fair to bring it to your attention:

One thing you could do is to get referral commission for companies with trial offers that won't cost you any money.

There are several out there. There are several videos about them online if you search around.

Then place several daily classified ads on sites like Craigslist, Backpage, USFreeAds, and so on. You should be able to get quite a good return for your efforts. The interesting thing about this is that nobody will need to take money out of their pockets: Not you, or anyone else you're in contact with.

Bumming on classifieds works but is work and will require creativity to see any results and not get booted! Also, many offers dont accept classified traffic so you may have to convert the traffic to a form allowed!

    My suggestion:

For a starter, go with doteasy.com/. They have an anniversary and you can get unlimited FREE hosting using the code 201010UHF1

Also, you get 1 domain for $1 using the following codes:

    20101010G2 - .com/.net/.org/.biz/.info/.mobi/.us

    20101010U2 - .uk

    20101010C2 - .ca

    Total cost for you: $1

They are pretty good company and you could trust them. Next thing you might wanna do is google "bidvertiser $20" and find a promotional affiliate link to sign up for Bidvertiser. It would give you free $20 of ads at no cost for you (you need to add your debit/credit card though). There you may get around 40-50 clicks to test an offer (clicks worth about $0.10)

So far, we got a domain name and hosting for 1 year, $20 of free advertising, and $29 left. You may easily outsource a few articles, or pay someone to make a decent design for your site, all up to you.

You can get domain from NameCheap for less than $10 per year.
Get from a low cost web hosting provider which I have great customer and technical support.I got most of my replies answered for less than an hour. It's only $3.95 monthly for the basic plan which you can use for a few months.

    Hope it helps.
