Hi,

So I started doing some PPC advertising for one of my websites.
The keywords (3) I have been targeting is getting some views, well one of them is, but no clicks yet (only Search, no Network).

How do I split test the right way (Adwords)?

- I have a Campaign named "Web site name"
- Under that Campaign I have 3 Adgroups, one for each keyword.
- Under each Adgroup I have 1 keyword which match the name of the Adgroup.

So, If I want to split different Ads with the same keyword. Do I just create several Ads under the same Adgroup? Will adwords direct equal traffic to both Ads then?

It depends on the campaigns platform (if AdWords, search or content network?), etc...

However, here is what I do 90% of the times:

    OFFER
If I have 2 or more offers that I can promote with the same landers I split-test them. I use P202 to rotate offers automatically, but doing this manually is also an option.

    LANDERS
I like to start with 2 or more completely different landing pages. Then, after a certain number of clicks I pick a winner and start testing smaller elements such as headlines, bullets, images, videos, etc...

    ADS
I always have 2 ads running per keyword/placement. After a certain njumber of clicks I compare their performance and replace the loser with a new one in order to try to "beat" the winner.

    I hope it helps!

455 searches and 1 click, isn't that extremely low?

How much is a "normal" CTR when running Adwords (search)?

The CTR depends on the position and keyword. However, yes, I think that one click after 455 impressions is too low. Try to improve your ads and maybe split-test 2 or 3 ad copies simultaneously.
