CPA Networks - Help please

Hi all,

I have an ebook and video course, which pretty much covers everything you may need to know on how to set up and run your own internet business, an a to z if you like.

I read somewhere that using a CPA network is like an affiliate on steriods, however how would one go about joining a CPA network and what happens? do I join and offer my ebook and video course like I would on Clickbank or is there mre too it.

I have read (on this forum ) that CPA's can be bad business but then on the otherhand they can make a product owner a lot of money??

Any help in this matter would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Mick

So you're looking to promote through CPA networks (have your product available so others are promoting your offer/link)? Is that right?

Mickey - You're correct, placing your offer inside of an affiliate network for others to promote is a great way to see an increase the distribution / exposure for your product.

Have you approached any network about setting the offer up? Where are you in the process?

      Hi

No, I have not done anything about it yet, I hear people tell me things about budget etc, why would I need a budget if I have affiliates selling for me, isn't a % enough?

I am also selling this as not only a immediate download but also a hard copy book with DVD's etc, I may also be looking to have a monthly update for a subscription fee (not decided as yet).

Any information anyone could offer would be most appreciated.

      Thanks

There is a difference between a traditional affiliate network and a CPA network. A traditional affiliate network you normally pay on a CPS basis so you give each affiliate a portion or percentage of the sales price.

CPA is a CPL Cost Per Lead model so it is much different. Essentially what you'll be doing is paying affiliates for leads and then you are responsible for converting those leads into customers. You need a budget because CPA networks want to make sure you can pay their affiliates for the leads...so its not as simple as throwing up your product and calling it a day.

Setting up a high paying biz opp CPA offer is something that will require a lot of work and testing and probably budget. Unlike a traditional affiliate network you as the merchant will bear risk because the leads you buy may not convert into sales that cover the dollar amount of leads you purchased.

If that doesnt make sense let me know and I can clarify some more!

          Hi Kenster,

You seem to know your stuff, thanks, so if I understand you, what you are saying is that I have to pay for each and every lead, I take it the leads would not be cheap? What is the average cost per lead?

How can I be assured that my website offer is not just emailed to anyone, whether or not they are interested in my particular niche just so the affiliate gets his $.

At the end of the day, and I know it may sound stupid but someone could send 100,000 leads my way that have absolutely no interest in my product.

          Am I being stupid?

          Thanks

            Hi Micky,

Nope you are not being stupid.

So I have always been on the affiliate side so I've never been a merchant myself, but I do understand generally how the process works.

In theory, yes you are paying for leads. In the bizz opp space, a lot of times the "lead" will consist of a Free Trial to your product. If the user continues on with your product and doesnt cancel the trial (there must be continuity, a simple ebook wont work) then they will pay a certain amount per month such as 59.99 per month. So if 1 out of 2 people stay for only one month, then as the merchant, you just earned $59.99 off the one lead and $0 off the second lead, so you earned $59.99 in total for the two leads. If you purchased the leads for $30 each then you broke even. If you purchased for $40 each then you lost $20 and if you purchased for $10 each then you profited $40.

This is a very very simple example of the concept...clearly you are dealing with multiple months of income etc that must be factored in, but I just wanted to give a gist of how the whole CPL thing works.

Setting up an offer will involve setting up the offer page and necessary programming.

At the end of the day bizz opp offers do well overall, but as I said, its not as simple as plopping up an ebook or ecourse and calling it a day...theres a lot of money, time, and investment involved if you are new!

You just have to contact some good networks and they will give you all the information that you need (technical aspects, budget, etc).

However, if you have a simple CPS offer that pays a % on each sale I think that it can be better to go with Clickbank or another similar marketplace. CPA networks would be better for rebills, physical products, etc...

Micky - Kenster knows his stuff. And a few others that posted here.

And they're very helpful and generous with their time, so don't be afraid to ask them directly for help.

    Good luck.

Absolutely I would love to help. As I said, I am on the affiliate side but just from doing this a lot I know a bit about the merchant side as well!
