Make Money from File Hosting Server

Anyone knows or has experience in making money from file hosting server?

    This is an interesting question. I had always wondered how hosting companies could make money by allowing people to download from them.

    I think that many servers are serious and really pay, but it's hard to make some decent money with this model. If you can get a huge number of downloads to make a few pennies you probably can generate a decent number of leads to make a good income with CPA.

      Hi Will,

      You're right. Especially when most File Servers positioned Malaysian traffic as Grade C. Grade C means every 1,000 downloads from Malaysian traffic of 1-50Mb file, gets only $1.00.

      The latest training program I did was attended by 70 participants for 2 days. Total photos taken were 200 units. Photo average size at 2Mb each.

      If all 70 people were to download the 200 photo files, that would be 14,000 download instances of 2Mb. That would make a mere $14.

      With premium service upsell, say 7 people opted in. If its $10/month, 50% commission, it is only another $35. Total is a pitiful $49 only.

      Then there is a video download of 60Mb. Again the File Hosting provider gives Malaysian traffic only $4 for each file with size above 50Mb. If everyone downloads it, then there is $280. $49 + $280 = $329. ( worth 50% of a junior clerk's monthly pay ).

      Was thinking of placing the photos in content gateway. But everyone were against it because the photos belong to the participants.

      That was training event No. 20. All the previous 19 trainings, photo files were given away through my own server. All free, not monetized.

      Every time, among the files given away were between 5-10 presentation papers or reports on CDs. These I think are worth being Content Locked. I just need to find the right offer for the Malaysian traffic.

      There are another 11 contracted training events until December 2011. I want to monetize the files in whatever way I can.

    I see that some earing from hosting file is really hard cuz having ppl to download is not an easy way and further less payout which discourate me out of this biz

    I agree its interesting but legally it would be a mess making sure no copyrighted info gets on your server etc. Tons of money to be made but risky.

    This way of making money is useless to be honest. These company gets a lot of free visitors because of this technique, as many of them do not reach minimum payout level to get paid. And thus they save on it.
