Where do I start? (Newbie)

Hey all,

I am completely new to this. I currently have a few different domain names as well as an unlimited hosting plan, but don't actually have any websites put up. I have checked out a few CPA networks (Neverblue, Copeac, Clickbooth,
Maxbounty, Peerfly, CPALead) and from the looks of it, they are all expecting me to have some sort of website created. They are asking for my site URL as well as a description of the site. I would like to get into this type of use of CPAs at a later time, but currently I'm searching for one that I can use offline marketing to promote products. I'm looking for $2-$6 per act from sites that are offering to win something for free by completing a SHORT form.

Where do I start?

Thanks so much!
Ed

You'd definitely need to have a website up in order to get approved by a CPA network. You can build a website really quickly using Wordpress. Here are some free video tutorials that can get you up in running within a few hours actually: http://budurl.com/freewordpressvideos

As far as a CPA network to choose, Maxbounty is great, I'm currently using it. I'd really start with a website though, make a few blog posts so your site looks active then submit your application to the network.

    Hope this helps.

What types of posts are they looking for on the web site? Are they looking for promotion of other products? Review? Any sort of content? I'm not quite understanding.

Thanks so much for your help!

Try Peerfly. They usually quite easy for new affiliates to get in to. Just learn to setup a simple site through the resource given in one of the post above, then head to Peerfly and apply.

If you want good, structured resource to promote CPA, I suggest PPC Coach site, or look for Kenster and Mike Morgan in WF.

CPA networks want to verify that you are legitimate and serious marketer .

So , first show them that you are serious by designing good looking and professional site.

The easiest answer to your question "Where do I start".. start by reading, reading and reading.. after you get a good understanding of affiliate marketing, different types of offers, traffic sources and techniques - your set to start doing.. now start doing, doing, doing and more doing..

@ChrisBa Do you have any suggestions as to where I should be reading. I've done a ton of research already, but hasn't moved into the CPA area (other than ClickBank which I don't think really counts). I have quite a bit of background knowledge of affiliate marketing and such, but I'm not quite understanding what these CPA networks are looking for.

@GoldenEye, Thanks for the idea, I'll keep it in mind, but I do not currently have nearly enough capital to be using spending it on one-on-one training.

@Mike Morgan, I understand what they are looking for, but what type of content are they looking to be on this well-designed website? Any content?

I'll put another vote in for Peerfly. They were the very first CPA network that I signed up for, and their staff has been great. Also, once you sign up for a CPA network, you will be assigned an account executive. Call them as soon as you get through submitting your application, or at least the next business day. A call goes a LONG way in the CPA world.

Also, if you're new to CPA, don't be afraid to let them know. Their job is to help you make money to make money for themselves. My account executive is quick to tell me what the highest conversion rates are for campaigns and so on.
