Facebook Ads targeting UK only but does the ad still have to be visable in the US

Hi guys,
I`m getting confused can someone please help me.

I`ve got a dating offer from neverblue here is the url ...

h t t p ://qdmil.com/click/?s=167238&c=438762&subid=

This is a UK offer so i made a FB ad and had this url but facebook disapproved the ad and sent this message..

"The destination URL of this ad violates Facebook's Advertising Guidelines or could not be reviewed. Please check the URL you have submitted to ensure that it is free of any spelling errors and that it complies with our Advertising Guidelines. Please note that all sites must be viewable and that they are functioning properly, regardless of the viewer's location. Additionally, sites are prohibited from linking to proprietary file types"

What i`m confused about is why ? I used a dating offer called `Flirt.com` it was a very casual dating offer and alittle sexy on the landing page and Facebook disapproved that ad sending a message that FB does not approve casual dating sites so i`m thinking because i didn`t get THAT message the landing page isn`t the problem.

What about this part of the message "all sites must be viewable and that they are functioning properly, regardless of the viewer's location"

Does that mean that even though i this is a UK offer and ive targeted only UK males that if a UK male is on holiday in spain and is using facebook because the landing page is only veiwable in the UK the user will not be able to veiw it so facebook has disapproved the ad ??

Any advice please.

Cheers Jim

Welcome to FAAH Jim - Facebook Ad Approval Hell

But seriously, the most likely reason is because you are attempting to show a UK offer, the FB approval dude/gal is in the US, and when they click on your link they are directed to some totally obscure / unrelated offer to your ad due to your aff network redirecting them on a geo basis.

The only real answer is to setup a php script that directs the FB approver DIRECT to the offer, no affiliate link, until your ad is approved, then redirect it to the actual offer with your aff link after it has been approved.

There are numerous posts on here to show you how to do it but if you get stuck, feel free to yell and I'll be happy to point you in the right direction.

And FYI, it doesn't matter what the users "location" is set to in their account. If they live in the UK but go on holidays and log in from Spain, they will see Spanish ads, not UK ads. The ad system works off the location of the IP address, not the user's home address.

    Cheers

Facebook reviewers are in the US, so the offer needs to be viewable for the US even if you're targeting the UK. They can't approve something that they can't see.

You can use a simple PHP script combined with the PHP geoplugin to solve this issue. Just PM me if you need help.

    Research geo-targeting and use that

    jim,

You don't need a PHP script. Neverblue has an option to redirect country traffic to a different offer. It's in the Advanced tab of the offer page. Simply redirect the US traffic from that offer to a similar dating offer in the US.

What great advice, and truly, FAAH, hysterical.

But then so much about fb is difficult, isn't it?
