Hey guys, just a quick question, when are you charged with PPV? When the visitor clicks, views or .......?

Thanks!

Think of it as being very similar to PPI (Pay Per Impression) whereas, you Pay Per each time your specified landing page is viewed/displayed.

The other noticeable difference is that instead of an adspace on an existing website, you're actually having your landing page shown directly.

Basically, your landing page is displayed in one of three ways. It can be delivered to the visitor as a POP-UNDER, POP-UP, or INTERSTITIAL. Some marketers may view this entire advertising platform as being "Grey Hat" because in order for your page to be displayed, the visitor must have a form of AdWare installed on their computer, and are to a degree forced to view your page instead of asking to see your page.

Opinions aside, can you make money with it, Yes.

PPV (Pay per View) advertising also known as contextual advertising or CPV is a form of advertising that incorporates the concept of keyword or URL targeting with the low cost per view (CPV) model.

In simple terms, it is a display advertisement which works based on PPV (pay per view) model, means; you only pay when your audience views your website.

Unlike search or other forms of display advertising, you aren't paying per click (PPC) or thousand impressions (CPM) on a banner or text ads. Rather, you are paying for each pop-up ad served in a computer with adware installed in it.

Each pop up costs you an amount of money, no matter the user clicks through or ignores/closes your pop-up completely.

    hope it helps

    Yeaps,
They installed free games, screen savers and other softwares in exchange to view ads.

So when the user browse to the website , say apple.com and you are targeting url with that, your ads will pop up.

    Hi, iYingHang

PPV marketing is what you would otherwise call 'pop-up based' or 'adware-based' marketing. In other words, it is a form of online marketing carried out through pop-ups, which are served on adware. We have all encountered these things before, only that we may not have been aware of them. The first point of contact (from the ad-target person's perspective) is when they download an adware program. An adware program is one that is distributed free of charge, and given to potential users on the condition that they be ready to be served with adverts through it. This is not something to be uncomfortable about, when you come to think of it. It is very much like free-to-air radio, or free-to-air TV: where you get free useful content, on the understanding that you will be served with adverts occasionally.

In terms of cost effectiveness, we see PPV-marketing having lesser potential for ad-fraud (which continues to be a major problem online). Provided you optimize your PPV-marketing - especially via a proper choice of keywords/URLs to bid on, as well as proper development of pop up adverts, you stand to make much more money per unit spend on PPV advertising.

In terms of functional effectiveness, we are looking at the very huge possibility that PPV-marketing comes with of targeted buyers seeing your advert -as it is automatically served. Now compare that to other online marketing systems (like PPC), where the potential buyers actually have to click on adverts to which they have a tendency to become blind, and you see what we are looking at, when we talk about the effectiveness of PPV marketing.

    Hope it helps

This really sounds great. I have often wondered how does PPV really work. I am a student of Gauer Chaudhry. I have taken his PPC Formula course.

DirectCPV has a series on making money with their network, which can be implemented on any CPV network.

Here is the link, How to Make Money with DirectCPV « DirectCPV – Instruction Videos
It is short and to the point.
Hopefully this can help out some newbies.

And no I do not work for DirectCPV. Traffic Vance is the best source for CPV to be clear, but these videos are a good free course on the foundations of CPV marketing.

PPV is not paid per click but instead how many times your page is viewed....example. Pop up, hover up, pop down (backdrop), search, banner views

People use all sort of terms.

Those videos from DirectCPV are fairly solid - and their network isn't bad for a newbie to CPV.

However the top two networks are TrafficVance and LeadImpact.

Not all PPV traffic is generated via adware. If you want targeted traffic (keywords, urls) this method is used. If the user has the adware installed they will see your ad pop-under, up, etc.. when your keyword appears anywhere in the url.

The other method is publisher pop-unders. We make agreements with publishers to pay them a cpm price to access their traffic. There is no adware involved and can't be targeted by keywords.

I sell both. Traditionally called desktop pops (adware, targeting) or publisher pops (no adware).

You pay a cpm price for each. With our system you also only pay for a fully loaded page.

    Hope this helps!
