I am ranking for Buy iPad 2 shall I sell it or Monetize it?

It really depends on how much traffic it is getting or better yet...how much traffic you think YOU can get to it. If you aren't getting many visitors, than an email submit campaign will not earn you much, so it may be better to sell to somebody who can get more traffic (and thus monetize better).

If you are getting a lot of traffic, then I would say stick with it, do some split tests and monetize yourself. I would probably make the decision soon as the iPad 2 literally just came out so the potential is good right now

Thanks for the anwer Kenstar.. My yesterdays traffic was 139 that was even before the ipad released and today it was 248 UV and 1284 hits.. Do you think at this level it can make $2k, $3k?

haha, well it depends what the unit associated with this figure is? 2k per hour, day, month, lifetime?

At 200 visitors and a low payout submit offer, it will be hard to reach that level in a month.

I think the only way to make a few grand a month is to do something with a higher payout. Email submits are tough to pull big numbers unless you have 1,000+ visitors. Maybe try and sell them iPads or possible a lowe payout cpa offer on the front, collect their emails, and put them in your funnel which will upsell them ipad accessories or something like that.

I am ranking on iPad 2 as well for several keywords. I am bouncing between #9 & #18 for iPad 2, iPad2 I bounce between 1 & 8, and a few other terms like ipad2 sales. We have had as much as 7500 unique visitors a day (that was ipad 2 launch day), and 40,000 unique visits this month so far (15 days).

Dr.faizan you are my direct competition! LOL - it's cool, there is plenty of internet for everybody.

Here is the sad sad truth though, about some suggestions.
I am monetizing with CPA and Adsense, and making some money. Nothing that is going to let me quit my job, but it would make a car payment.
But as of right now, there really are no iPad 2s to be had!!! Every affiliate source I have found has "Call in to order" if they even have any available. This doesn't help an internet affiliate marketer!!! Amazon, which was planned to be my main source, does not have them yet. They have sellers that have them, but at completely over-inflated prices. I have built up a Facebook following over 1400 from this site, and a good sized email list as well. But I have nothing to promote to them at present besides CPA offers! IT SUCKS! IMHO this site should be making 4-8 times what it is making, if not more. What it is making a month, I should have been able to make on March 11th, if I had links to buy them. I do know eventually, they will be readily available, and will profit more.

But demand will also decrease, and then iPad 3 will come out.

Which I am ready for. :-)

As for the poster who mentioned getting sued, yes, there is that threat. If I get a cease and desist, I will do just that! But as OP said, there are hundreds of apple trademarked names in domains, and they dont seem to bother anyone really. And BTW, if you are using any of their trademarked names, you can not join their affiliate program. BUT their affiliate program is not open to new accounts at present anyway! So the person who suggested that, it is not an option. I have been searching this whole month trying to find a source - that sells at retail or below, and gives a decent commission. BTW, Best Buy has an affiliate program. Guess what they pay percentage wise on computers? ZERO!!! Believe that? Amazon seems to be the best overall at 4% with a $25 cap on computers/laptops.

Think about these things:
1. You will NOT make $1k from 139 visitors, BUT the iPad 2 is not even released out, so the number of visitors will slowly increase.
2. If the niche is making money, more people will start be interested in it so the competition will rise.

It's really very soon to consider selling or monetizing with only 139 visitors, but I'd definitely try to increase the traffic and monetize the site.

Hopefully it stays in top ranks however it might not as i see you have under 100 back links and I can recreate what you did so can anyone else and they will.. As already stated you can monetize it while it's ranking (which should have been done already) or sell at this point since you have a great offer already on the table.

Like I have mentioned in PM talk with you I have ranked many single word keywords with over 1 million exact search volume and they are ranking for more than a year now. It just needs some maintainance work. Also I don't know which tool you are using to state that my site has only 100 back links because it is only Google who knows how many links are pointing towards my site. And like I mentioned in our private talk I expect the site to move to #1 soon and no you cannot out rank me atleast until I keep working on it. Not wanting to rain on your parade but there are tons of tools out there that can see how many sites are pointing to yours, some good and some not so.

And yes while its great that you are ranking well for the time being, it isnt that hard to rank well for something that isnt even out yet. When the item goes into pre release mode then you will see all the top CPA players come rushing past you. My advice would be sell now if you arent too comfortable with monetizing this.

Finally, you have made people aware of your plans here, on the one website you didnt want competition. While we maybe helping you, you can guaran dam tee that hundreds, if not thousands are finding ways to jump all over this.

Just my 2 cents

Hey mate I do agree there are many tools which shows the amount of backlinks but we all know at the end of the day only google knows how many links has been crawled or considered as backlinks. Thats because carlos was saying I have less than 100 links but to be honest I was working daily on this site for the past 2 months so I built thousands of links. However I do agree I will see some competition now but to be honest competition was always there even when I started working but not much. I hope and will try that my site wont get down.

I have a great idea for you, I remember a while back when I was reading an ebook about ebay that said if you refer a visitor to them and they buy something you get a cut of the sales price. If you could install a simple template and paste widgets to amazon, ebay and other major retailers then you can be making some serious money.

edit: Looking at your site you need to paste ebay/amazon widgets on your sidebar immediately if your getting lots of traffic.

Isn't it illegal to use a trademarked name in a domain name because the company could sue you for using the name? Eg Walmart, Kindle, Google, BBC, etc?

Not even me there thousands of such domains registered others.. And I don't think Apple will care to sue everyone who has registered domains with their product names in it. Otherwise Apple shares fall like waterfall lol.. And also these are the domains which get them most of the sales at the end of the day because they are promoting their products not doing any arm so I believe Apple won't care about it.

Keep it....Earn Money...Track All Your earnings and stats in a nice easy to read file....Keep track of how you did it...then...
