I think the general consensus is as the payout increases, the more need there is for a landing page.

It depends on what advertising platform you are using. I use both landing pages and direct linking with equal results, direct linking from banner ads on media sites and using landing pages for adwords etc., when this is not just necessary but the only way to get results. On some platforms you don't have time to capture leads so direct linking to an email/zip submit cpa offer may be the best option.

Thanks for the great advice everyone.

I was thinking of using an offer that converts well with Direct linking, so I can build some capital to split test some landing pages so I can capture some E-mails. is this a good idea?

Or would I be better off going straight for the landing pages?

    Cheers.

  • Yes direct linking works with leadimpact.com. As far as conversion rate, this all depends on what your targeting, what your actual offer is and what the LP is. Conversion rates constantly vary.

Direct linking can work, but you need to make sure the offer page actually fits well inside the popup window (800x600 with leadimpact). A lot of the time the offer pages are made for 1024x768 or higher resolution and so a lot of it will be outside of the viewable area. If the call to action for the offer isn't even inside the window, your campaign will bomb pretty hard.

When you preview the offer page, you can use a cool plugin for firefox called firesizer to set the window size to 800x600 so you can see what fits inside the popup and what won't be seen.

With LeadImpact is it better to use a landing page with some text, a video, just a headline, a simple graphic, or a page that looks like a website?
What converts better in your experience?

Both worked for me, it depends on the offer you promote.
