Anyone actually do CPA offline?

First it's very hard to get the idea approved, and I wonder how it's done. Anyone do a successful campaign approved and funded without the network getting unhappy with the leads? I don't need to know your campaign or your secrets, just how possible it is.

Thanks!!!

Yea I was used to run Netflix on college campuses with flyers that then lead them to my website. Like most of us who have used Netflix this does work. I started out at the campus I lived on then kept it rolling.

Most do not...but seriously ask your affiliate manager and see how much you can do...a lot of them said it was fine if I was promoting my landing page and etc or at the very least send them to a squeeze page and get their email Trust me it works.

I've done plenty of offline. Just like online, there are lots of legit and lots of non-legit methods! Because its harder to trace and the actual point of contact has no footprints so networks can't monitor, this makes some networks weary.

The best way I have approached it is to speak with the AMs you have worked with in the past and asking them to "test" the traffic. Then just do a small offline campaign. If the AM approves and the offer is converting, then they will be more comfortable letting you expand.

If you are directing offline traffic to an intermediary lander, then most AMs are much more comfortable with that because it essentially converts the offline traffic into web traffic.

Like anything else, offline traffic works very well if you do it it right.

I don't do offline marketing because I live in Brazil, but there is no doubt that it can be profitable.

As Kenster said, the only problem that networks face is that it's harder to know how you're driving traffic when using offline methods, so you should always keep in touch with your affiliate manager and let him/her knows what strategies you're using.

Btw, Kenster's guide on offline marketing is fantastic, if you intend to take this route but are unsure on how to proceed I highly recommend you to grab your copy.

Thanks William, unfortunately the Offline Dragon is currently offline haha and sold out...sorry!

But I am more than happy to help our with offline related questions...just ask in this thread!

Offline is unique, at least in the CPA world. There are benefits and challenges. The benefits being less competition, more stability, the ability to scale, etc.

But the challenges are that like online marketing, it can be just as difficult to crack...you need to work at campaigns and optimize to turn them into huge winners. Its a bit tougher to do some forms of offline marketing overseas as William pointed out, but then again there are methods that can be done from anywhere. Many of my campaigns were completely done from the comfort of my chair...so it doesn't matter where my chair is located...in terms of country or continent. Offline marketing goes well beyond flyer marketing!

Overall...lots of opportunity and offline is a whole bag of worms that includes countless strategies and methods.

It's not for everybody but I think its something every successful marketer who is looking to diversify should explore!

I have done this in the past. Just be honest with your am and most of the time as long as it's a ethical method it's ok.
