Something surprising i just noticed with google

Hi Warriors,

just noticed a thing about google that i must share here.
My dad being a diplomat has to attend a summit in Maldives which runs for the whole next week. Although he has his air tickets and hotel booked, i tried to confirm the cost of the air ticket and just like how most of us do it, searched google.

Now, the interesting part
No matter what i want to see on youtube/Orkut/Gmail/Blogger
i have been getting ads for hotels/cheap tickets ONLY related to Maldives,
i think google has now diverted its attention partially from just keywords.
Although i personally believe google is capitalizing on its search engine volume on other unrelated and high traffic services. Not being a super IMarketer, what does it mean to us?

    Whatever you search on google for... All your search results and search keywords gets stored on your computer in the form of COOKIE !!

    So when you again open Google you will see ads relevant to your previous search query or Interests

    Thats interest based advertising.. You can opt out of it from Google Ads Preferences

    Here's an example.

    If I visit the BaseCamp (owned by 37signals) or search for related terms in Google, then I will most likely start to see advertisements for BaseCamp appear all over the internet via AdSense.

    That's most likely because I use Google Chrome, have a Google account, and go to BaseCamp very often.

    And "cookies" are being captured.

    If you want to see what a new visitor might get (or see what someone who has never used Googlle before) just open an "incognito" window in Chrome and enter your search term.

    I think Google's approach makes us more adsense $$ because it serves highly relevant personalized ads to each searcher.
