Adcenter Adding dynamic keyword to dest. URL for tracking

6 replies
Hi Warriors,

I want to use adcenter dynamic keyword parameter in my destination url.So i can track my conversions is my CPA network account.But my question is what if my keyword phase contains space character?

Example;

keyword:Free coffee coupon

Destination:www.mysite.com/free-coffee-coupon -- Valid URL

Destination:www.mysite.com/free%20coffee%20coupon -- Invalid URL

Does Adcenter replace "space" char with any other special char?If not what is your recommendations?

Thanks.

    No it won't replace it with a space character. It will send it as is. Your keyword would have to be: Free-coffee-coupon to do what you want to do.

      What if i have thousands of keywords and most of them contain space char.What is the way to export these keyword phases as subid ? My way could be wrong to track. What is the right way to track these keywords ?

        On your landing page or redirect page - You could write a piece of php code to convert the spaces to another character, it's actually pretty easy and 1 line of code..

        Just a quick example:

        $newkeyword = str_replace(" ", "%20", $oldkeyword);

        This assumes the keyword coming into the page is $oldkeyword, and replaces spaces with %20 and then creates the $newkeyword to send out

          Thanks for your reply but my question is about using destination url in ad copy.

          If i add the dynamic keyword phase(includes space) to the end of my destination URL in my ad in adcenter , user can not access to my landing page.In 7Search they replace with space with "-" but adcenter doesnt.

          thanks.
