I am mainly talking adwords here. Not facebook. Anyways...

Ok so if you want to promote CPA offers then you can use forums, youtube, make some flyers and do those types of methods.

But to me it makes no sense why any one would waste there money with PPC to promote offers when they could instead promote an actual product and although it is harder to convert, as long as you researched carefully then your ROI should be much higher.

Is this correct? I never used PPC before, but due to low payout for offers, paid advertising seems too risky.
Any case studies that prove which is better? CPA vs normal affilate product?

you are right. PPC is not for everyone, its only for the pros. in most of the cases you will not get the desired amount of conversion by which you can minimize your investment. so avoiding PPC is better.
but for those who can invest a lot, PPC can be very effective. because you don't need to do anything. you just pay

Everyone loves free traffic because it's safe some kind. The 1st reason i believe people use PPC or any other paid advertising media types is because it's faster and will give you instant results.

You can make money very fast and with less effort than free traffic.

1 Campaign can take 5 minutes from your time while 1 article or video could take up to 1hour may be.

The video or other free traffic source receives traffic very slowly in compared with paid advertising.

I give you an example here.

Suppose you have made a video or another free stuff and after scaling and watching reports, you found that the offer received may be 100 unique hits per month and made for example $20. on the other hand i setup a PPC campaign within 5 minutes and after 1 hour i have received 100 unique clicks to my offer and made the $20 in my first hour then my second $20 in the next hour and so on.

so the paid guy made $20/hr and you made $20/month.

Paid traffic= instant results + less effort + more money + Getting nervous

Free Traffic= Slower results + some frustration at the beginning + recurring income + big effort + more time consumed

So you got the equations and you should decide which model is worth your time.

I like paid traffic because iam lazy some kind and because free traffic eats my time.

You are not going to be wrong with either traffic type if you work hard, test and scale your results, optimize them and make good money with less effort.

I haven't had any success with small cpa offers and PPC. There is just not enough margin that is worth my time imo. I will still experiment with it and try and make it work. By using free adwords vouchers you can give it a try with no risk to your own money.

I like PPC because the results are so fast. When you test/make changes you see the effects right away. The down side is you can lose a lot of money fast if you're not careful. There's tons of free info on how to start doing PPC. How to split test, how to optimize your campaigns. The differences between Google, Yahoo, 7 Search and others. You need to study, be smart and learn from your mistakes.
The info you can get here on this forum is invaluable.
