question about google adwords tool

I am a complete beginner to PPC. When you key in a few phrases and do the estimator.... what you want is for it to generate a high amount of searches, but low competition right?

Do people usually use a whole bunch of phrases on PPC adds or just a few?

High demand - low competition

Click >Advanced Options and Filters>Filter ideas
to find those key-phrases

Start with few and then add more.

  So far every single add i have tried making using clickbank... Google declines and says it is because the site it blocked. Is clickbank a shoddy affiliate service?

So what i would have to do ( i assume) is have the google ppc add going to a squeeze page i make?... and then make them want to click my link to go to the vendors sales page?
