A few landing page questions....

I am at the point where I want to begin testing my offers using landing pages. I have a few questions on this though:

1) Do I need to setup a domain that matches the offer for this landing page? For example the offer is an email submit for light up shoes. Do I have to put the landing page on a domain like : www.thebestlightupshoes.com?

2) I have seen alot of advice that says do not do opt in then send to offer. How would you reccommend doing this then? I obviously need to get them to my offer to convert...right?

3) Any good WSO's or places I can go to get my skills up to snuff at building out LP's?

Best bet is to get your own domin name (info domains cost only 2 bucks) and about building list its best option because you can reach your audience when ever you want and promote what ever you want much more powerful ....

      it depends on more factors:
      - what is your offer,
      - do you want to build a list?,
      - what is your traffic source

you probably need different landing page if
case1: zip submit, no list building, traffic is ppc
      case2: cps offer+list building+ppc

    Hi fuzz
    1) Not necessarily. Depends as qasy was saying on your traffic source, etc.

    2) Opt-in works if you are building a list, you can also send directly to offer. If you are just starting off, keep it simple and send directly to offer, familiarize yourself with landing pages and testing etc

    3) Do a google search, there's plenty of places on building LPs, do a search here as well as there are free tips in these forums. There's no fixed rule for LPs, you just have to test them out. Sometimes the ugly ones converts better.

    Good luck!

I would give something away to get the optin and then send them to any sales page.

1 - You do not need to, but often if an offer is successful it can't hurt, having a domain that matches the product is often seen as helping gain 'trust'

2 - You can certainly do this, but it all depends on your offer, niche, etc..

3 - I don't know of any, I just recommend searching through these forums

Depends on how you are generating traffic. If you are doing SEO, then I recommend purchasing your own domain name that is keyword-rich. If you are doing PPC, then you can use some free domains or still purchase a domain and have a different, separate LP per traffic source or offer.

It is good to have a list within your niche so you can promote to the subsribers over and over again. So, building a list while promoting your offers may decrease the conversion on the front-end but may turn out to be profitable on the back-end.
