PPC->CPA Testing/Tracking tools?

I hope this hasn't been asked recently. I've been through the first couple pages and didn't see anything.

Of course testing and tracking can make the difference between success or failure in PPC->CPA, so the question is, what tool(s) are the best? Do googles tools work well?

Curious, what experienced marketers have to say.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you, will check it out. Course always have to wonder how good free ones are.

      EDIT:

After checking out the site, they have a bunch of great tools, wow. Never really been in to PPC, so guess why I never saw them.

What is their hook? Maybe selling the hosted side?

The plan is simple, get into the market by offering stuff for free, then once you have decent market penetration, start selling ad space on the apps. Nothing wrong with that, but they're not running a charity, (although it looks like it short term).

I've got a tracker too, but it's not free...

Ya I figured that out pretty quick. I'm not complaining, I understand it.

Is the trial pretty good though? I wouldn't mind moving up and paying when I need it.

      Hey Ron,

You need to get it setup... It works good and the price is right.

All in all about a 10 minute install. Make sure you install it in the root of a domain (needs its own domain) or a subdomain of your existing website.

It won't work if you try to install it in a subfolder.

The install instructions are pretty clear. If you get an error (can't find 202-config.php) than you need to setup the config file manually. It's not that hard.

Once you get it installed there are some video's on the Tracking202.com website that help you get a campaign setup...

It's not that bad once you watch the video's.

You'll be up, running, and tracking in no time. It has some good features as well. Not perfect, but what is. It really is nice to be able to watch your traffic and conversions in real time, the Spy feature. I like to use the postback URL feature as well and get conversion updates automagically.

You can even see Google come to your site when you first start a campaign, pretty cool. If Google comes back later, you might want to check your adwords account and make sure you didn't get slapped.

If you have any questions just let me know. Send a PM or ask right here, I'd be happy to answer them.

      Good Luck...

      Derek

I use Tracker202 - thats the Prosper version hosted by the tracker people.

I chose not to host it - since they do it and have a lot of dedicated servers.

It seems self hosting is a pain to manage - and if your server is slow or goes down - BOOM.

Its great stuff and works well. There is a paid version coming out. The paid version isn't great (YET) for IM marketers - since it only tracks PPC programs.

By that I mean Email and SEO and Magazine stuff.

I have found a number of ways to modify Tracker202 (easy to fool the system) so that you can use it to track anything.

I am positive Wes will upgrade the paid version for total IM usage.

I recommend it. In the month I have been usingT202 I have only seen and experienced great things.

Just thought I would chime in on this thread, and to bring the interested up to speed...

StatsJunky has had a number of great changes an upgrades over the past several weeks and months; and has lowered the price. If you have not had a chance to do so recently, I would recommend a re-visit to the Web site and take a look at some of the new functionality - StatsJunky dot com.

Also, if you do have any specific questions regarding the program, please feel free to ask here or send me a DM through the Warrior Forum, and I will get back with you.

      Thanks -

      - Charles
