The First Steps Are Completed...Now I'm lost again. haha

Hey guys!

I have a feeling I'm going to be saturating these forums with questions and hopefully in time I will be able to help someone a year from now who will be in the shoes that I am currently in.

This whole IM stuff can seem awfully daunting to me. CPA, CPC, PPV, ETC. hah

Anyways, I am currently on a sales trip in Michigan and I got to my hotel this afternoon to find that I've been approved for MaxBounty, PeerFly and Adwork Media. (at the time of this post; the top 3 rated affiliate sites on affpaying.com.)

I am incredibly stoked!

But now... I have no idea where to start. I've been exploring trends, checking out all of the offers. Experimenting with 10-15 dollar ad campaigns but I just want to make sure I'm on the right track for success. Are there any free sites out there that can offer me information on what Ads are doing well on social sites like facebook? I've seen the site lotsofads.com but I'm always very hesitant on paying a monthly fee for something without really knowing about it.

I read a few places that it's always wise to see if the information you're looking for is readily available and easy to access for free before investing hundreds into books and site memberships.

Anyways, I hate to rant on any longer. So I won't. I just hope there is some helpful insight.

I'm a single father of 2 crazy boys. I'm a successful Business Development Manager (my title... AKA "Glorified Sales Rep!" haha) in the industry I work in. But I'm just not satisfied. I need to be around my kids more. I need to be around my girlfriend more and I need to be around my family more. Any opinions, insights and advice will have my full attention.

Thanks for reading!

hmm well i`advise you to read a bit more about traffic sources etc and then take action , remember just stick with one traffic source and don't give up until u succeed , At start is is a bit hard to get started but once you are on track you will make your way

Btw what traffic sources you are thinking to look into ? paid or free ?

Currently I'm trying out Facebook ads. Mt first campaign was to promote a personal page of mine that links to my site (which will hopefully in time make money off of selling adspace.) but the site is hardly a professional site lol. It's just a humor-based site that I have a lot of fun with in regards to Facebook and other images.

As for traffic sources, I hate to sounds like a noob, I'm actually not sure what free vs. paid traffic sources would be.

I assume free would be what I'm leaning towards right now.

    Thanks for the reply!

Alright, I started a quick little campaign this morning. It wasn't much of a success (but not much of a failure either) and I get back to my room this afternoon to find it is pending re-review due to a significant number of user complaints. *sigh*

I deleted the campaign to avoid any headaches.

It wasn't violating TOS or anything. But I am getting slightly frustrated. Are there any type of ads that people would recommend for me that have better returns/conversion than CPA?

    Also,

What is a good budget to start with a test campaign and for how many days should I run it?

Odd, what niche was it? Maybe audience didn't find what they expected after clicking and going to your landing page?
