CPA vs Clickbank

I was wondering what people think I would get most conversions from. I have a nice Website in the Dating for Women niche ( KW how to get a boyfriend). I am currently page 5 for main keyword and page 2 for Secondary keyword.Currently I get about 40 visits a day and about 10 hops per day but no conversions for Clickbank product. I have often wondered whether 47 dollars for the product is putting women off buying the product. I am in peerfly and Maxbounty and wonder whether to promote dating offers where the current clickbank offer is in place. I know I could promote the two (CB and CPA ) on my Website but worry that it will look spammy and get hammered by Google. Anyway any advice would be appreciated.

    first i`d advise you to join adsimilis as they got variety of dating offers , Then how about suggestive approach ? or a dating site comparison section on your website etc ?

    it sounds like right now you either don't have enough traffic or not a high enough ctr to your offers to really make a judgement.. work on getting more traffic and increasing your ctr to the offers, then from there rotate between several offers to find the best converting offer

      Don't just focus on the niche but consider the demographic as a whole and what they may be interested in, eg. weight loss, dieting etc.

      May also be the keyword 'boyfriend' is attracting a younger or teen audience where they don't have the $47 or are under 18 and can't sign up for dating offers. Older women will generally use the term guy or man rather than boyfriend.

      As Chris says above, focus on getting more traffic, larger numbers will make things a lot clearer.

    Build a list by offering them as incentive and when you got them you can easily market to them,but give them value first.

    i'd say :

    1 - Build a list
    2 - advertise CPA to start with, you need to get some $ coming in, no matter the pay out when starting it's what will keep you going !

    I agree the list is the most important thing. If you don't know enough about the demographic hire someone on elance or odesk to get a free ebook, video or audio made up for you. If you do know it shouldn't take too long to through together some freebie for them. People love free stuff.

    For CPA conversions for dating short forms are usually in the 0-10% conversion range. The conversion will depend on the type of traffic you are sending. So how well pre-sold and targeted the traffic is. So if the keyword that is getting you the majority of the traffic is 'how to get a boyfriend' and the offer was for example True dating, you need to connect the dots. Regardless of how obvious it may be to you, you need to make it clear for the visitor.

    Alternatively as mentioned above, start a list and let the conversation between you and your visitor take place over email. Mail them relevant content and promotions over time. Then it will be easy enough to split test CPA vs Clickbank and you can see which gives you the best EPC.

    Here's something you might want to think about.

    How many people "refund" free offers? NONE

    How many people "refund" clickbank offers? A LOT

    That kinds of sums it up I would think.

    The biggest advantage of clickbank over CPA is the stability. You can build small profitable campaigns that will be there for years. They won't earn you much, but they more stable and CB products almosts never expire. So if you are targeting an evergreen market you can add up more and more campaigns without worrying much...

    On the other hand it's much easier to convert a short form lead then to sell an ebook for 37$... Also traffic sources that can be used for CPA can bring you much more traffic...

    After expiriencing with both of them I am now building small websites for CB products and in the same time run some PPV campaigns. I believe that in the long run CB will win because these websites can bring me money for years...

      That's true but at the same time you are dependent on google. If they decide to go all crazy and try to bring more "quality" to their users (which they probably will), the more and more difficult it will be to make money. But it depends, there are people that were never afected by google's changes, so I guess it can last for years.....

        You are always depended on someone - Traffic Vance can close my account any minute if they want, lead impact steals trendy campaigns from affiliates.

        And despite all this still I work with PPV traffic and love that, but it's a short term look and that's why I want to own websites that brings money passively without me having to look for a new offer every few weeks for that.

          Yeah, but it's more likely for google to try to screw marketers then it is those others 2 options (dunno about LI stealing), and you could apply the knowledge to another ad platform. Just my opinion

    You can make some offers changing the price like $30 for one week and check whether the reason is price or something else. If you find some conversion in low rate, you can come up with a solution that, your price is higher. No matter from where you get traffic as the conversion rate is zero. Trying through changing offer could be a good option for you.

    I would get the user's to join a newsletter for one reason or another.

    Then test of different offers weekly.

    This will also help you keep a low profile from Google.
