Need Accountant Knowledgeable In CPA & IM

Hi everyone,

I just finished my taxes and after writing a hugh check realized I need to change accountants. My current accountant has no knowledge of CPA marketing or Internet Marketing and so I end up both educating and paying her!!

I shouldn't be researching things for my accountant in order to reduce my tax burden. I can't afford to spend my time doing her job and was wondering if anyone can refer or recommend an accountant or accounting firm that understands CPA and IM.

I did accounting work for years and years, working for somebody else, before I started working in affiliate marketing. I've always done my own taxes and still do. With the tax software they have available, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to do them yourself and save yourself some money. I use TaxAct and they ask you every question that needs to be answered. The main things to remember are that you need to fill out a Schedule C where you will show your income. You will receive a 1099 Misc. Income form from every company that paid you more than $600 during the calendar year. You're allowed to deduct expenses related to your affiliate marketing work and the software asks you for all of the ones that qualify. If there's a room in your house that you use strictly for a home office, you can deduct a percentage of your home utilities.

Can I ask you what you paid her to do last year's taxes?

I always just get an accountant, it isn't worth my time to do it.

    But yeah, doing taxes SUCKS!

Just curious if you ever read the actual thread you're posing in?

No offense but 80% of time time, your posts are so vague and I think you're just here to increase your post count.

EDIT: We joined the same month and I don't think I need to say more....

Anyways, I did taxes last year and went to an accountant for IM and he didn't even know what it was.. He was like oh you do online stuff ok blah blah... I ended up doing everything and paying him when I could've done it on my own. Better off doing it yourself its not that hard with the programs they have available.
