Figured it out? Prosper202, 7search, and MaxBounty tracking

I am direct linking to MaxBounty offers with 7search ads. I have self-hosted Prosper202.

My links look like this:

Desination URL in 7search campaign setup-
HTML Code:
http://mydomain.com/tracking202/redirect/dl.php?t202id=133&t202kw=###KEYWORD###&c1=###AFFID###&c2=###RID###
Affiliate URL in p202 campaign setup-
HTML Code:
http://www.mb01.com/lnk.asp?o=4765&c=918273&a=000000&s1=[[subid]]
Callback URL in MaxBounty campaign setup-
HTML Code:
http://mydomain.com/tracking202/static/gpb.php?amount=#RATE#&subid=#S1#
I am hoping this will allow me to track clicks and conversions by keyword, affid, and rid.

Does this look correct?

Thanks

I hadn't found is prosper capable of tracking (c1 .. c4) parameters. As far as I understood these parameters are not for browsing in reports, just to pass through.

And although you could track affid and rid separately, to block subid at 7Search you should pass it in form affid-rid. So I'm concatenating them directly in tracking URL and use single value ###AFFID###-###RID### for tracking.

      Thank you for your response.

It turns out what I'm doing is almost exactly right. The c1 and c2 are passed through. You can see them in p202 on the "overview" tab under "group overview". I can then use the "group by" drop boxes to sort by the c1 and c2 values.

Also, my callbacks are also working, p202 is tracking my leads correctly.

The one thing that I'm missing is cost. All my clicks show a 0 cost, so my ROI is not calculated correctly. I'll report back once I figure this out...

...or some wiser CPA master could enlighten me.

      Thanks!

If you have hosting with hostgator than make sure to send them a support ticket with:

Please whitelist my whole domain mytrackingdomain.com for mod_security rules..

You'll lose some keywords in prosper if you don't do that.

Thank you too I didn't even know how to generate reports by c1..c4. I really thought they are only for passing through (with [c1]/[c2]/...).

Don't use your landing page directly. But use Setup / #7 Get links code. You'll get your tracking link as your original one but with the tracker parameter "t202id".

You can put the CPC in the GET LINK pannel (step 7).
In this manner in your Overview and other Stats the ROI is calculated.

BUT... my problem is that I used to change the CPC of my keywords campaign, so the ROI is not correct 100% also. I know I can pass the CPC through the C1 variable, but this is good only when you see the Group Overview Report...
I would like to find how to pass the CPC value to the real CPC of the keyword in the campaign settings. Any idea?

    Hey Anomalous,

Thank you for you MSG, all links looks fine to me and the only thing I can think about is why do you use #RATE# in your post back URL? You should be able to know the rate of the conversions and add them directly once you setup your campaign at step #3 in p202. Also do you set the bids when you generate your P202 link at step #7?

      Mahmoud,

Thank you for your response. You seem to have a great grasp of these things

I used #RATE# thinking it would pass back the cost of the click, which may vary from one keyword to the next. Am I mistaken?

Also, I changed my affiliate url in p202 to this:
      HTML Code:
      http://www.mb01.com/lnk.asp?o=4765&c=918273&a=115215&s1=t202kw-[[c1]]-[[c2]]
Prior to this change, my MaxBounty subid report wasn't showing me the AFFID and RID anymore. Now it does, but the t202kw just passes through as the variable name instead of its value. What am I doing wrong?

      Thanks...

      • This video should cover everything you need to know on the Maxbounty side of things.

Your subid is formatted incorrectly, you had it right the first time around

What you want is something like this

        Code:
        http://www.mb01.com/lnk.asp?o=4765&c=918273&a=115215&s1=[[subid]]&s2=[[c1]]-[[c2]]
There's really no need to pass in the keyword since you'll get that report inside of Prosper202

PS: I also explain how to use the #RATE# token with is used to pass in the lead/offer payout back into Prosper202

          Thank you for this video.

This is the 7search destination URL I am using now:
          HTML Code:
          http://mydomain.com/tracking202/redirect/dl.php?t202id=576&c1=###AFFID###&c2=###RID###&t202kw=###KEYWORD###
This allows me to group by AFFID and RID in Prosper202 so I can evaluate each traffic source, and block accordingly.

My clicks are tracking, but I don't know about leads being that I haven't gotten any since I last changed things.

This is now my affiliate URL in Prosper202:
          HTML Code:
          http://www.mb01.com/lnk.asp?o=4990&c=918273&a=000000&s1=[[subid]]&c1=[[c1]]&c2=[[c2]]
I am getting the data I want so far, but I still haven't seen any conversions to know if they are tracking correctly.

I'm thinking it is unnecessary to pass c1 and c2 in the affiliate URL?

Your tracking link is looking good. Your affiliate link will work fine, but you're right in thinking that it's unnecessary to pass the c1 & c2 variables.

You might as well just cut it off after the [[subid]] tag. The variables "&c1=, &c2=" don't exist in MB's system. Those are only to be used in your tracking link, to pass information into Prosper202 (not out)

You can pass a SUBID,Rate, and C1,C2 variables to your postback url and paste them on your browser. This will give you a conversion inside Prosper 202.

I'm pulling my (limited) hair out trying to get a handle on this tracking of KEYWORD, AFFID and RID using DEMON TRACKING.

Anyone else using demon tracking to track a Maxbounty direct link campaign, that could offer any much needed pointers?

I started an email submit yesterday, and right off the bat it's almost break even, so I KNOW I can get this thing profitable if I could track which keywords and AFFID's are converting......arrragghghgh.

              Thanks,

The DT support team would probably be the best people to ask about that one

Yes, I had sent them a ticket but wasn't sure how quick they'd get back to me. Turns out they have a stellar support system and helped me with tracking by keyword on 7search. Unfortunately, the bad news is, they currently can't track the AFFID and RID.

So thanks to this thread I'm up and running on Prosper202 and finally looking at a report by keyword, AFFID, and RID......thanks!

Just wondering if anyone can confirm this...
I have Demon Tracking but am wondering if going with Prosper202 will give me more flexibility as far as tracking with CPV/PPV etc?

I use Tracking202 both for PPC and PPV and I can get every data I need: click, conversion, CTR, LP CTR, KW CTR, EPC etc...
The only thing that I would like they to implement in the future, is the chance to set the bid for the single password and not only for the URL campaign.
Right now to fix it I'm using one of the 4 variable that you can use in the URL ( c1, c2, c3, c4 ).

I hope someone can help me athough I know this is an old thread.

This is my link in prosper:

        HTML Code:
        http://prosper.mysite.com/tracking202/redirect/dl.php?t202id=262&c1=###AFFID###&c2=###RID###&c3=ad1&c4=lp1&t202kw=###KEYWORD###
Which I have double and triple checked, according to everything I have read it should give me a detailed report. I just can't seem to make it work for the KEYWORDS. Everytime in the prosper reports I see "[no keyword]" as if the link was not registering keywords at all. I can see the keywords in 7search reports though but I am not sure what's wrong in prosper. Can anyone give me a hand to try to find what the problem is?

        Cheers!

The URL looks ok... when you copy and paste in the 7search campagin did you try "test this url" ? and after in your prosper, as a filter of click, set "Show All Clicks", and not "Show Real CLick"... then you should see ###KEYWORD### in your keyword list. Start with this test...
