LeadImpact keyword syntax

As far as I know keywords are matched against URL as substring match.

So keyword ".domain.com" would match http://www.domain.com but not http://domain.com. To match http://domain.com specifically it's possible to include trailing slash from http:// i.e. "/domain.com" would match http://domain.com.

Also I know asterisk ("*") would match any single character. So keyword "domain*.com" would match "domain1.com", "domainz.com" etc. It's a bit unusual, as asterisk does not work as traditional wildcard character which matches zero or more characters.

Is there any other metasymbols (like asterisk) or special operators? Keyword matching tips & tricks are also welcome

speedylikesKJ, I have very little experience with PPV, I'm still to master PPV, but I think abc.com/ is least preferred, and I tell why.

I was running one campaign for the unemployment offer. I noticed one of my targets get disproportionately more traffic than it possibly has. This target was "jobs.com", I realized that this target matches many sites like customerservicejobs.com, americanjobs.com, allretailjobs.com, administrativejobs.com, ...

Since then I'm adding two targets ".abc.com/" and "/abc.com/" to match site abc.com. Especially for the short domains which could act as suffix for other words/words combinations.

Also I incline to add trailing slash (abc.com/) to increase chances to match the site I expect. Since abc.com without slash would match both abc.com and (for example) abc.com.au.

There is great info here! Thanks for sharing!

I have been running campaigns at Leadimpact for some months now, but wasn't even aware that there are such tricks! Is there a resource you can suggest from which I can learn more on these symbols and tricks?

thesilvershield, Wish I could Thats why I created this topic, maybe someone tell something more than I already know.

I discovered asterisk symbol accidentally while I was using keyword suggestion tool. And I understood it wrong. Intuitively I suggested that it works just like traditional widlcard (similar to wildcards used when working with files), but I was told by LeadImpact representative that asterisk match just single character.

There is no such information published at their site (or I don't know where to search).

I already contacted LeadImpact support regarding comprehensive description of patterns which I can use to match keywords. But my answers went unnoticed. So I turn to members of WarriorForum.

UPDATE: I was told by support that there is no other fancy features besides asterisk. So I guess that's all.
