Text Link Ads and SEO

I am keen to find out it text link ads like Kontera, Infolinks etc are good for SEO or not. I thought about using them but I am also scared about punishment from Google Search Engine. Anyone having experience about the impact of text link ads in relation to updates by Google, please share it

    Text ad links even add bigger search engine benefits than image links. You won't be punished by Google. Text ad links are an important part of seo as it helps visitors point to your website and also helps search engines to determine the keywords that your website should be page ranked for. It improves website credibility and popularity.

      Thanks a lot, actually I got scared because one my friends told me that most of the clicks on the text link ads are clicked because of confusion and the stay time of visitors on the website goes down.
      You know if a visitor spends less time on the website it is not good for the site.

      Even if you are using a service like Kontera?

    Most of the links generated by text link ads or kontera are done via javascript, which will NOT give you a SEO benefit, since googlebot ignores that. Even if it were real links, Google is smart enough now to figure out which links are marked as advertising, so worst case scenario you'd actually be punished for it..
