Peerfly + Traffic Questions

1. When they say you can promote via PPC does that mean you can promote your site via PPC and if someone happens to click the offer then its good. Like adnetworks.com advertising their adnetwork with "Join our ad network" and they just happen to have a converting offer on the page. Or does that mean you can really promote their offer banner on your site via PPC. Like putting your own made up banner ad on your site for a free IPhone and then using Google AdWords campaign "Free Iphone" send them to your site, make them click the link, and then offer convert.

2. Does google adwords allow you to do this?

3. Is that incentive traffic?

4. What is the policy for bing and facebook for this?

5. Do I need to get all my links to my offers approved? Contextual? Banner? Email?

6. Why do some offers show 0.00 EPC and CR

Sorry it is just hard to find targeted answers to these things.

It sounds like you need to have a discussion with your am

    1. Typically it means you can promote the offer via ppc - direct linking or landing page

    2. Google Adwords is the last place to start with ppc, check out bing or 7search

    3. Incentive traffic is when you offer the visitor an incentive for filling out the offer (eg. You pay them $5 to fill out an offer)

    4. Not sure what your asking? For incentive offers?

Again, you should reach out to your am for most of these

Yes, but Adwords banns affiliates fast!

    2. Does google adwords allow you to do this?
    No, but other places yes.

    3. Is that incentive traffic?
As I understand from your description, no it is not.

    4. What is the policy for bing and facebook for this?
Contact your affiliate manager and ask them.

    5. Do I need to get all my links to my offers approved? Contextual? Banner? Email?
    No than likely.

    6. Why do some offers show 0.00 EPC and CR
They are new more than likely.

When they say you can promote via PPC is means you can direct link from the PPC engine to the landing page.

    2. Does google adwords allow you to do this?

It's hit or miss. If you know what you are doing it can work, but 9 times out of 10 they will shut you down fast.

    3. Is that incentive traffic?

No. Incentive traffic is when you have a webpage that says something like "Complete these 3 free offers and we'll give you a $100 gift card!". You may notice that Peerfly and a few other networks actually have incentive based sites as their clients, that's something that always rubbed me the wrong way with their network.

    4. What is the policy for bing and facebook for this?

Facebook is the most flexible, but bing lets you get away with a lot of things still.

    5. Do I need to get all my links to my offers approved? Contextual? Banner? Email?

Because some networks want to make sure you are playing nice and won't send them a bunch of garbage traffic that won't convert and won't chargeback. If you send them 10,000 clicks and none of it converts, the EPC of the entire offer goes down which looks bad in their stats, which then looks bad to their merchant partners.

    6. Why do some offers show 0.00 EPC and CR

Without looking at them I would hazard a guess that they are either new or haven't had any activity on them yet.

      Sorry, was on xmas vacation.

Email submit offers are a big one yes. I'm not sure if the other big networks have the same type of setup, but reading the terms of some of these landing pages is just silly.

Want an example? Offer #4475 - iPhone 4S (CA)

When you click on the 'participation required, click here for details' link you get this in a little popup:

SUMMARY OF PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS. Your time and the personal information you share with us is of value to us and to our partners. They allow us to give you, in exchange, a reward at potentially no monetary product costs to you. To receive the reward you must: 1) be a Canadian resident at least 18 years of age or older; 2) register with valid information; 3) complete the following reward offers: 1 Featured offer, 1 Silver offer, 1 Gold offer, and 2 Platinum offers (Available reward offers will vary. Some reward offers require a purchase. Credit card offers may require you to activate the card by making a purchase, transferring a balance or taking a cash advance. Click on the following links to go directly to the reward offer pages: Featured Offers, Silver Offers, Gold Offers, Platinum Offers); 4) refer 1 unique household that also completes the program requirements; and 5) follow the redemption instructions. This includes sending your redemption certificate within 15 days of approval of your final offer. All program requirements must be completed within 60 days of the date of registration. Completion of optional offers and survey pages is not required to qualify for the reward. Please read the Terms & Conditions for complete program details. Your information will be shared with our marketing partners (this is a condition to your participation in the reward program). Please read the Privacy Policy for more details. If you have any questions regarding this reward program, please Contact Us
I get the first two requirements, those are no brainers.

But what boggles me is that for somebody to qualify for this offer they have to complete 5 other CPA offers, and then refer a friend who will complete 5 CPA offers themselves - all within 60 days or they can't get the iPhone.

From a merchant perspective, I see why they have these types of offers. The person offering the free phone has to make a profit and they will realize the profit when they get essentially 10 completed offers from a single signup, depending on the offers they are forcing that could turn a tidy profit for them.

From a customer perspective, those terms really turn me off of even wanting to submit the first page.

Now suppose I'm a customer and I give my email address:

Are those 5 offers I have to complete even going to appeal to me?
How much are they going to cost me?
How many of those 5 offers require me to complete other offers to qualify?
Why do I only have 15 days to get the iPhone after completing everything that was listed?

None of this information is available when I'm looking at the signup page.

Again, I get it from the business side of things. But whenever I'm looking at promoting an offer I always try to look at it from a customer perspective and these offers just make my skin crawl. Yes as an affiliate I just have to worry about getting somebody to drop their email address, but I try to look at the big picture here on what a customer really gets out of it before deciding whether it's worth my time trying to promote.

On the plus side, I love the interface you guys have now. What you had several months ago when I last logged in wasn't as nice as the current interface.
