Prosper202's outbound redirect code

Hi everyone,

Am still trying to get used to Prosper202 and was wondering if there was anyone here who is familiar with it and can help me figure out a few things.

I have setup my campaign successfully but am stuck at step 6 with the outbound redirect codes. My questions are

1. Should I use option 1. Outbound PHP Redirect Code, or should I use the second option - Outbound Javascript Redirect Code?

2. My second question is, where do I place these codes? Do they go onto the landing page html or do I create a new folder and upload it to the root server for this domain?

I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks

Cheers

    Hi,
just create a new.php file and give it a name you like. In this file you will paste the outbound php code. After that you just upload it on your server and change the href in your html to link to your created .php file.

    Hi Gordon,

Thanks for your advice, that sounds really complicated. Ok, so I create a new file with my php code in it then where do I place this new file? When I go into my /public_html folder I have two files on this landing page, an image file with all the images and an Html file. So do I upload the new php file here so that now there will be 3 files i.e. Images, Html and .php files? Am I correct so far?

And then where do I find the href and how do I link it to my .php file?

Sorry to be a bother and advice is much appreciated. I still new to this and trying to learn the ropes. Thanks

      -Use the first outbound code.

-Yeah that's correct... you should have 3 files once you're all done - html, img, .php.

-On the html you have to find the href link and change it so when someone clicks on your html link... it redirect them to your outbound .php file.

-To find your href... it should be where the 'call to action' button is at.
      So look for <a href="http://sitename.com/folder/redirect.php"></a>

    Hey Nana,

Thanks for chipping in, was actually hoping this post would get your attention. I know I have watched all your videos on Prosper202 and everything seems to be very clear and concise. I got through all the steps without any hassle. Thanks.
The only problem was, and it might be obvious to seasoned marketers like yourself, Gordon and Super coach from above, where to save the .php file? I have never worked with php files and have very little to no experience with HTML, so trying to figure out where to save the .php file and where to insert the code has been quite baffling for me.

I even asked you if you could show us how to do it on last week's webinar. It would help if you could do a video and include it in your tutorials. Otherwise all the other instructions are very concise and clear, thanks.

Save the PHP file to the same directory as your landing page and just call it "go.php" or "offer.php" or something like that. Then link to the PHP file from your landing page's call to action or whatever part of the landing page you want people to click.

As long as you copy and paste the redirect code into the PHP file right you'll be able to track visitors and conversions this way. By the way, I would HIGHLY recommend getting the Landing Page CTR mod for Prosper202 if you plan on marketing with a landing page. It will save you a lot of time working out which page variations are performing the best for your campaign.

    Hey Guys,

Just an update. I tried it and it worked! All my links seem to be working and clicks showing up on Prosper202 and on the Network reports, just a slight difference of clicks but I suppose thats usual. Thank you very much for all your input guys! Cheers!

Can you have multiple outbound php codes to track different landing pages for different networks/traffic sources?
