Unless you've got a phrase that demands clicking, always rely on your images to get your clicks. So in your case use a banner and apply an image that's attractive. CPA and PPC are a lot of trial and error so make sure you test various ads frequently.

Ugly banners ( simple, non flashy banners) have worked well for me. Depends on what your promoting.

Depending on your offer, it will be between both of them. It's not a rule that text is better or banner is better.

Why people prefer text is because it's easy. You dont have to make images. However don't be lazy. Split test both and decide for yourself.

    Good replies!

I asked because I've always associated text links as spammy like, even with Adsense, whereas banners automatically give me a better feeling about the ad. However, I've read that text links work surprisingly good with Adsense.

Of course, I'm aware that it may also depend on the niche but have you found that readers are less inclined in text links now that the internet user is more educated and more exposed to spam?

Wow what a major shocker! Text ads pull more and get higher payments from Google flat out. Sure, they're not as pretty as image or banner ads but the click through rate industry wide on banners is less than 1%.

With more than 10 years in this business, still sometimes I can't believe the crap I read on here! Good luck Moving Around.

SO you are saying text links are better off than banners? Interesting, what's your niche?

It depends also on the quality of the banners, sometimes the defaults can be pretty poor. I've often repurposed or crafted my own which converted better

I highly recommend Adtomatik. I am using it for the last 3 months and the results are amazing. Best ecpm and higher fill rates in comparison to others ad networks.

I think banner is better. Images drive more attention than words. You don't need to create a very professional banner, just use some image to simply drive your message.

Depends on what you want to do, for Search Ads, Text is what we can do.

With Display, I feel like, if we are advertising on particular websites, then image ads, and then text generally, however, more then that, it depends on product to product, niche to niche and case to case.

But my recommendation will be to try both and stick with what works best for you.
