Using Countdown Timer on Squeeze Page?

Yes, it can work great. I would defiantly use a javascript one, if it fits your page.

You can split test, but countdown timers almost always boost my CTR.

If you are going to use it on a landing page, just make sure the person isn't too rushed that it could effect conversions. (Since you are using a squeeze, it isn't as big of a worry.)

So pick a time that fits your page.

It might boost ctr if all you are asking is for a click.

But if it is typing in details like email and name, I was thinking whether being too rushed might caused misspelling... It might get sign ups but those sign up details might be wrong.

I hope most people can correctly type their name and email in 90 seconds lol :p

But you make a point, just make sure the user has enough time to read your page and fill in their info.

At the end of the day... just give it a test.

What software(s) do you use if any to track all your webpage stats?

Stats such as daily visits per page, and clicks for different links on a page.

I am not referring to specific link tracking software like Adtrackz Gold, but page or entire website tracking and testing software.

Then for tracking my paid ads, I use CPVLab.

Have you considered Piwik? I heard someone mentioning it. It seems to do a lot of things similar to Google Analytics without the need to install code on every single page.

Yeah, countdowns can work really well, but not always and it really can depend on the offer and traffic source (or both).

You shouldn't asume it is always better to use a countdown - split testing is, as always, essential!

Anytime I see a countdown timer, I always reload the page and see if it starts back up again, if it does, I wonder why the person is trying to lie.

When I used a countdown timer on my squeeze page, it says the page will redirect when the timer hits zero, and it does. So it's the truth, lol.
