Made My First Converts With facebook Ads :)

Ok, the good news is I made my first conversions with facebook ads. It's a dating offer with a $3 payout and I got 2 to convert. The problem is I spent like $7 to make this $6. I cannot seem to get my CPC down. How can I do this? It's an american dating offer. I am paying around 52 cents per click.

So is it all about images? My CTR is 0.064 right now. How can I get the clicks cheaper? Should I try per 1k impression pricing? I am manually bidding on the bid price right now.

Should I stick with this offer and tweak it? At least its making some conversions which is more I can say for the last few I tested. I figure if I tweak this and scale up im good? Could I turn this into $100 a day profit maybe?

YOu paying 52 cents per click and you made 6 dollars while buying 14 clicks? I think there is a mistake somewhere

Are you pointing your add outside Facebook, on your landing page or an offer? I think you do because click rate is too high.
If you optimize your campaign for impression and point your add inside Facebook, like fan page tab you will lower bid price.
Another thing is you need to set up some split test campaign so you will know exactly what to do to get better impression and clicks.

Thanks. How do I put the website into my landing page? Do I need to iframe it? I got to get my click cost down.

SIMPLE! Facebook is very very simple! Heres the secret...

          HIGH CTRs = LOW CPCs.

          PERIOD

I dont care what anyone else says, thats the bottom line. Any CTRs under .1 are shit and should be cut!

BUT! Congrats on your first conversions thats really exciting! Keep it up, keep submitting more creatives daily until you find your winner!

I had a 1.2 CTR with this creative on FB running dating about 6months ago, see if you can get it to work

If I test a new image for the ad does my CTR start over? As in if I have 20 images will each one have a fresh CTR to start with?

              Yes!

Another way to increase your CTRs is to try to get more targeted traffic. Whats your ad impressions?

This isn't that bad, you have potential. You need to get that ctr up. Try lowering your CPC and try raising it as well. Also try variations of your ad with different text and images, also try adjusting your targeting

That is exactly what you do. You can Iframe it or use Woobox FB App Free. I use it and just copy+paste html into the tab and it resizes it with links and all.

Promote the app tab via paid ads. I think this will help. I've been knee deep in FB ads the last couple of weeks. spent some money but made some as well doing affiliate marketing.

Don't forget to set them up each as new campaigns. Facebooks ad system will go nuts and usually pour traffic at whichever ad receives the first click.

wow thanks guys. Ok so basically I need to iframe this into a facebook fan page tab. Then create say 5-10 new campaigns with same offer just different pic right?

Test many images and few ad copies to increase the CTR. Your CTR is less. Try to get at least 0.1-0.15% to see the significance change in the CPC.

    Best luck.

lets say I figure out tomorrow how to turn $3 into $6. Is it as simple as scale up after that? Say I put $200 in and it turns into $400? Could it be this simple?

Technically, yes it can be. Given what you have told us so far, there should be a great amount of volume available to you. At high CTRs you can lower your bid and retain the volume.
    Giddy up!

Guys peerfly tells me I cannot iframe my offer into a fanpage tab until I have 10k fans? So I guess this means I got to continue direct linking? I am a little disappointed about that. Is this true?

Those likes will not be real people. They will be worthless and get 0 results.

so what should I do now? Just test different images and get the CTR up? I guess that will make a big difference right?

Hey, the other guys are right.

Yes, you should try several different images to get your CTR up- there´s always room for improvement.

Your target audience and image you are using are very-very important. Get these two right and BANG - you have yourself a nice super-low CTR.

    Hope that helps!!!

    -Regards-

Small audience, LOTS OF ADS and LOTS of campaigns.

That's how you make FB work and get some volume out of it.

I have the targeted audience. Well my reach right now is 240k people. You are saying that I should make a lot of campaigns?

Are you saying instead of targeting the 240k people with one ad in my niche I should maybe use 10 ads and target say 2400 people per ad? Is that what you mean? Does this work?

is it possible to get 50 cents per click down to something like 10 cents per click?
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[8530933].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author coreytucker
Ok well I just narrowed things down. One ad only targets potential reach of 7k people and the other 12k. Are these even worth running? Seems like they would take forever to even get any clicks. Says my estimated cpc is 30 cents to 56 cents.

That is a pretty small group.. If practical I would run the many ads to one large group to see which of them perform the best. Small audiences are great to start out with but that is very small.. my idea personally is I am only interested in what has volume.

Ha-ha, he meant to say "super low CPC"
Yes, its possible to get a 50 cent cpc down. However you will need to run many ads for that high CTR and slowly work your way down. The general suggestion is start high. Higher placements from the get go will usually result in higher CTRs, which in turn allow you to drop the cost. Weird huh.

I dont get it. How do I get my CTR down? I just cannot seem to do it. Its so frustrating trying to track all these ads in facebook too. I guess everyone is right. Facebook is hard. I feel like I can figure this out but how?

How do I get my CTR down? Am I kidding myself to think I can I get my CPC low enough for a $3 dating payoff? I need to get my cost down. I can't iframe this into a fan page. So now I just got to rely on getting a good image to get a lot of clicks?
