Media Buys-Getting Hits-No Conversions

Which is cool.

I bought Stepon Rudds $6 report that spurred me to action.

So I spent a big fat $20 on a new network, Adtoll to be precise.

I set up two offers for a ringtone: Boom Boom Pow
My ad has a 100x100 pic of the RHCPeppers and the ad goes

I like the Boom Boom Pow
Download this ringtone now

I've got two unique hits in less than 24 hrs. It's costing me about
a buck a week for each targeted site to run for 30 days for this offer.
All my ads appear above the fold.

The other $10 was spent for a two week run a "Strip" ad on the ad network.
The ad appears on the top of the page. 11 uniques so far.

I'll wait a week before I change offers if my conversion stats still suck.

Thoughts?

    Real quick stats:

    After 12 days:
Ringtone offer has 14 hits/no sales/17 days left on this campaign.

The strip ad has just under 150 uniques w/nearly 250 views/One $27 sale of which I receive $17 instant PYPL cash. This one has (so far) made me a %110 ROI. Three days remain w/this campaign. This advertising Co. accepts paypal, so I can easily reinvest.

    Cheers!

Is this what his wso about making 9k a month is about?

I cant say I have done a TON of media buys but I have done a lot... They do not convert very high unless you have some very creative or targeted traffic, then it can convert better.

      Hi Micah,
No, not his report on PPV technique. I bought the CPA starter guide about media buys. It's not so much specific step-by-step manual as it is an overview of the advantages of using media buys over adwords PPC marketing. The report cost me $7, and I've made $17 so far because of it.
I need to work on which offers I promote where, obviously, but I'm a happy camper because 1. I'm doing something and 2. I'm making a buck. And I'll make more because I can test, tweek, and track everything I do.
I respect your opinion and observation on media buys. But this is where I can spend my limited advertising $$ and not feel "taken" because the hard part of matching the right offer, to the right people, at the right time shouldn't be that hard or costly with URL targeted campaigns.

      Thanks

It's really hard to suceed in ringtone offers as its super saturated and most consumers know the tricks behind it now.

You have to be creative to succeed in this.

Media buys are the future of affiliate marketing, no doubt about it. They offer so much more room for expansion than PPC once you become adept at them.

That said, I wouldn't particularly relish the idea of promoting any kind of ringtone offer - unless I had confidence of an extremely targeted market.

As for your campaign specifically, well, I'm not gonna cast too much of a judgment without knowing how you're promoting it. But as someone who thinks the Red Hot Chilli Peppers blow mega balls, there ain't a chance in hell I'd be clicking the ad!

If I were you, I'd split test some different bands, and perhaps a general banner.

If you don't split test, you have no way of knowing whether it's the market that's failing or you that's failing.

    Hi Tim,

There are certain things that you need to do before you set up your campaign like

Demographic analsyis . You must match the CPA offer which suits to the visitors of the site that you are promoting .

    I hope it helps .
