a little question about POF

Hi,guys.

I was on a affiliate marketing conference these days.When other marketers heard that I use POF as my traffic source,all they can say is "it's really hard to make profit on POF now."..........blablabla,something like that.

I'm still learning a lot of marketing skills and haven't made profit yet. So I'm a little confused.Is that true?
Anyone here to share ideas on that?I'd really like to listen to you guys.

BTW,mobile affiliate marketing is really hot.They're all talking about that...................

    Its very competitive. When getting into it, your competing with guys who have months of data and a large budget to work with.

    Your best bet is to go targeted, but the volume is very very limited.

    Somewhat, yes that is true. But it's like anything. There's so many factors that could have gotten to that answer.

    Depends what you're promoting, depends how you're running your ad, your bid, who you're targeting, etc.

    POF is a great advertising platform. I've had terrible luck with it at points but if you stick around long enough to learn how to use their targeting options you'd be very surprised the kind of results you'll see.

    People could say that about any traffic source. To this day pof is my best traffic source for dating offers.

    The only reason they say its hard is because they're not evolving or adapting. If you try the same thing over and over again, eventually its going to fail.

    How long have you been "learning" on POF so far? How much have you spent in testing?

    Those are the real determining factors.

      I've been POF a month.But most of the time I was learning skills about copies,images,targeting^something like that. I've spent hundreds of dollars on POF.No much profits,but I will stick to it.

        Post some of your failed campaigns, there maybe a fundamental mistake you are making with them.

          I got 20+ clicks today for the campaign,and 1 conversion,losing $20+

          According to the result,I think my LP has some huge problems.Maybe the photoes are too professionally good looking.

          I may try direct link or modify the LP.

          Any suggestions?

    You're paying way too much per click. Test more ads for a higher CTR. 1:20 isn't enough data to make any hard decisions other than you're either bidding too high or your CTR sucks.

      Thanks,JustinDupre. CTR is a huge problem to me,my best CRT is around 0.09%.Although I have been testing new creatives.

      If the creative got poor CRT after 10000-15000 impressions,I would cut it.

      I've read some blogs on how to choose the right picture for dating ads.Basically,I choose amateur looking pictures with some cleavage when targetting man.Besides,I write the ad copies that follow the main psychology principles,like scarcity,question,blablabla.

      Any advice on how to increase CTR?
