Why people mention plenty of fish, the dating site, when they're actually talking about POF the advertising site. As a result of that, I see many people recommend to promote dating offers on ads.pof.com

If anyone can explain this to me I would really appreaciate it.

Well, their advice doesn't make any sense as you can promote whatever you like in POF as long as it exists in accordance with their set of rules. Although I hear it for the first time, the whole thing is an illogical misunderstanding of the people who support that view.

The appeal of POF for users is that it is free and popular.

What happens is that users (especially women) sign up for free to have a look around and do a bit of harmless flirting etc and find that they are spammed to death by horny and desperate single guys.

We then jump on with our "paid for" dating site where women can join free and the men have to pay to join and promote it all over POF.

The women see this and instantly recognise that if the guys are paying then they will be guys that want a relationship and not a fling - as a result the women join our dating site too.

Obviously - this isn't based on research as I only work in markets that pay me over $30 per lead (which dating doesn't) it's more based on a quick thought given the of users there....

So plenty of fish the dating site is a part of the POF distribution or what?
Sorry but your answer doesn't explain my question.

I would recommend to promote dating offers on ads.pof.com, I have had the most ROI with dating offers.
