Hey you Mediatraffic users,

I signed up with mediatraffic y'day. I was expecting to see banners and text ads as well. But they only have pop-ups and pop-unders.

1. Is there a preference for pop-ups or pop-unders?
2. I think most people use this type of traffic for CPA offers right? How about affiliate products?
3. For CPA, would you direct link or use a landing page?
4. Any other advice on how to properly utilize such a traffic source would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Chucky

I have *not* used MedaiTraffic. However, when I do buy pop-under exposures from other networks, it doesn't convert enough to be worthwhile.

    A waste of money.

If someone else has success with those, I'm all ears, let's hear about it!

So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.

It's not a waste of money! Not if you know how to do. I can't say I know yet haven't tried but I seen people make loads of money from it. You just need to optimize. Get around 1000urls.
Test different offers. Target the urls with what you are promoting, not random sites.

MediaTraffic is what they call contextual traffic or ppv(Pay Per View). In other words it is legal adware that users agreed to install on there computers. This can be excellent traffic if you know how to market it correctly.

Yep, that's what I've heard, if only I knew :-(

If anybody's willing to elaborate a bit more, that would be awesome!

Always use pop-ups. You want the ad to be noticed.

Ok thanks, that's what I figured too. Instead of pop-unders. But then could pop-ups get blocked and pop-unders not get blocked? That was my worry!

These popups are fired by the adware NOT by the web browser. Therefore a popup blocker that is installed in the browser won't block an adware popup.

As bidding on keywords tends to get you tons of "view fraud" (i.e. the visitors don't seem to be actual people), I have to cosign on the point that you should target lots of url's. Your best bet would probably to target known high traffic competitors or maybe url's in the SERPS for the keywords you are interested in. If you do bid on keywords be careful with your match types, don't put "complete url" or "url with query string" because your pop will be triggered by tons of third party "ppc search engines" that don't deliver real traffic. Unfortunately part of the click fraud problem seems to exist in the CPV world too, and I have noticed some of the same 3rd party players as I have seen with blowsearch, miva, goclick, etc. and these are among the websites that may trigger your pop. However that traffic is often fraudulent.

So if you have access to your server logs, you need to monitor the traffic that you do get. See if you are shown referrer url's. See if those "visitors" load the graphics/javascript/favicon like they are supposed to. That may be your first clue that something is wrong. Otherwise you will need some way to tell you whether your views are legit users or not. You will have to play the the matching and targeting options until you can filter out unwanted traffic sources.

Also they have something called an "exclusion list" for your campaign where you can state which domains you don't want your keyword to show up for, but mine is greyed out and I can't add anything to it. I e-mailed my account manager about it but haven't heard back yet. Anyone else know how to use that?

yes there are preferences. I suggest you talk to your MediaTraffic manager. Mine gave me a ton of useful info after I explained which type of offers I was interested in marketing.

Chuck There is a preference. Pop ups convert better. The key is to make sure you optimize. Scrape alot of urls and test, test, test. Just keep weeding out the ones that don't work and boom you have a winning campaign. Rinse and repeat. Whenever you switch networks start over. Because what keywrdz and urls works for one network might not for the other and vice versa. Media traffic is the best place to start. They have alot of volume. You get more for your money. Easy to use interface. You would direct link for email submit offers and use a landing page for offers that require the person to pay. This converts better.
